Best strap for 7D ?

Thanks for the pic Greywolf, not sure I'd go for the camera on paracord but that'd work well for my monopod.

Meanwhile I picked up an optech pro strap as well and heading out to the woods in 2 hours for a weekend of camping so it'll get a proper outing right away.

Maybe I have particularly sloping shoulders but most straps just slip off my shoulders.

There are a few people where I work with Teflon shoulders

This is a link to an R Strap copy, through best offer you can get it for £18-£20 (I got mine for £20, others got it for £18). Does what it says on the tin, nice and comfortable. I carried a 1D mkIII and a Sigma 120-300 f2.8 around on it all day last weekend.

Mine arrived today .. holds my gripped K-7 with Sigma 100-300mm f4 with no problems.

Not sure I would trust it with my 300mm f2.8 though (3kg).

Regarding the Optech Pro strap vs Canon original, the difference was noticeable but not huge on my 7D + 70-200/28L IS II. But when I'm using the 1D battleship with the same lens, it's very much noticeable and the combo feels much more comfortable. Also much less prone to slipping off the shoulder and while it's bulkier than the Canon straps, it's not prohibitively so.
