Best Soundtrack / Music in a film ?

Thief, The Keep and Risky Business (all Tangerine Dream)

   I'm astonished at the number of Tangerine Dream fans there are about!
I've got those three albums (Only the CD version of The Keep, though as the original vinyl album is extremely sought after - fetching up to £100 in fleabay), along with Scorcer and Firestarter.
Tangerine Dream also did the score for Near Dark, Heartbreaker and Shy People (which, naturally I also have in my vinyl collection). :D

I have all of those on CD except Heartbreakers (vinyl only, saw it on CD in about 1986 but was still at school so funds were tight) and the Keep, which I don't have at all. Near Dark is also excellent, really suits the film.

If you ever see a geniune LP of The Keep for sale, let me know!

Sir William Walton (not known for the theme from The Waltons) gets the credit..

Right...massive brain-fart there - It didn't sound right even as I wrote it and it was bugging me all afternoon...you beat me to it...

Run Lola Run is pretty damn good, Monsoon Wedding brilliant....

Most of Bernard Herrman's stuff is worth a listen notably Psycho, North By Northwest and Taxi Driver...

American Beauty has a really nice soundtrack.

A few others I like are:

Kevin & Perry: Go Large

Blade (I, II and Trinity)

Leon

Bad Boys

The Fast And The Furious
