Another that springs to mind, but that needs to me played very loud:

Maid of Orleans - OMD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmwMhjbThKg&ob=av3e
I've linked it (sorry for the advert at the start) as the ambient soundscape intro frequently got chopped off when it was played on the radio.

I feel love - Donna Summer

Phantom of the opera - Iron Maiden

Locomotive breath - Jethro Tull

Time - Pink Floyd. Also the first nine minutes of Shine on you crazy diamond (that counts as an intro, no?)

Also sprach Zarathustra - Richard Strauss http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyJwbwWg8uc (first two minutes or so)

Layla-Derek and The Dominos
Voodoo Chile (slight return)- Jimmy Hendrix
Baba O'Reilly - The Who
Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen

Another vote for GnR Sweet child of mine.

Hoiw about Metallica nothing else matters? dead simple but so effective!

This.

gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it. Bit of a grim story behind the song though.

Thin lizzy .. whiskey in a jar ...I think it's called

Sweet Child of Mine - Guns'n'Roses...this has been my ringtone for years and yet still puts the hairs up on the back of my neck.

Locomotive Breath - Jethro Tull

Lazy - Deep Purple

The Trees - Rush

Rainbow-Stargazer/Man On The Silver Mountain/Tarot Woman ----- take your pick from that fine trio

AC/DC- Hell's Bells

Iron Maiden-Rime Of The Ancient Mariner

Free-Alright Now

Too many to choose from! But memorable ones are...

Lynyrd Skynyrd - 'The Needle And The Spoon' and 'Workin For MCA'
Brian Setzer Orchestra (him out of the Stray Cats) - 'Buzz Buzz'
The Honeydrippers - Sea Of Love
Robert Plant - Thru With The Two Step
Thin Lizzy - Waiting For An Alibi
...
and many more, coming to a father's day near you soon!

GNR - Sweet Child'o mine (has to be, thats the most epic riff ever!)

AC/DC - Thunderstruck

(neither song btw goes on to be ranked amongst my top faves, but the intros are superb)

Although Appetite For Destruction is one of the best albums ever made, The opening riff of Sweet Child of Mine makes me want to put my foot through the speaker. Think I must have od'd on it when it first came out.....

Pretty much any AC/DC track has a cracking intro - if I knew where all mine had ended up, I would be putting one on but having recently ripped them for my MP3 player, I've put them somewhere safe - so bloody safe, I can't find them to lose.

Spirit of Radio - Rush
Road to Hell - Chris Rea

Best "Extro" - another brick in the wall - pink floyd

Locomotive Breath - Jethro Tull
Eyes of the World - Rainbow
Knocking at you Back Door - Deep Purple
Mistreated - Whitesnake live 83
Shine on you Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd
Telegraph Road - Dire Straits
Justice for All - Metallica

Too many to choose from......

Definitely Locomotive Breath by Jethro Tull...

1 minute 20 before the guitar intro...

Sorry, no video...just the song. :)

My pick has got to be Mannish Boy by Muddy Waters.

Dunno about intro but the best outro by a mile is I Am The Resurrection - The Stone Roses

3 Doors Down - Kryptonite

Alkaline Trio - Radio (Hot Water Music Version and also my favourite song in the world - possible NSFW, few naughty words!!)

Goo Goo Dolls - Slide (Short but always gets me)

Iron Maiden - Infinite Dreams (Such a sexy intro)

Less Than Jake - All My Best Friends Are Metalheads (spoken intro)

Also agree with many of the previous - Paradise City, Sweet Child, She Sells Sanctuary, Money For Nothing, Layla all good!
