Best shows on Prime/Netflix?

I wouldn't suggest rushing to watch 'Thursday Murder Club' on Netflix. Pierce Brosnan is totally miscast and it's a bit how Spielberg would've done Austin Powers.

Gaps in storyline, not a patch on the book.

Wife watched about 30 minutes and gave up lol

Watched this a couple of weeks ago. Enjoyable viewing.
A season 2 has been agreed but set in a different park/place. But still with Eric Bana, he was good in Black Hawk Down.

Hopefully the scenery/ location will be as great as season 1 was. Beautiful to see.

Yeah, I do remember first time watching GoT the first season needed a little bit of staying power, but season 2 onwards we felt it kept getting better. Season 8 felt a little rushed.

Teresa I think it was.
I think you're spot on with the GoT thoughts there since the first season is a bit tougher to get into because it has to introduce a lot with the fantasy setting and a fairly large cast with various relationships and interactions. I found it a lot better on the second watch once I better understood the overall setup and could better understand the story. I recently saw a clip mixed together of Trump explaining he is the president cut in with the scene in GoT where Tyrion explains anyone that says they are the true king is no king at all. I forgot how well Charles Dance portrayed Tyrion without being loud or boasting instead just had this quiet and deadly power. It's a shame the end is such a mess because I can't watch the earlier episodes now knowing characters and storylines will go nowhere and how badly the story ultimately ends.

Did you go back to Andor? I really didn't like the first three episodes of the second season which just seemed pointless and I wasn't keen on some of the jumps later on just when you were getting into it however once it got going I did think it was a fantastic series. I was concerned they'd not be able to follow on from the excellent first series which had been a real surprise but I think they did and managed to avoid the trap of flashy combat and fancy scenes instead sticking with great location shooting and some fantastic characters. With it being a prequel some scenes are a little spoiled by the fact you know the characters are going to be ok although they're balanced by some fantastic scenes with characters you don't what's going to happen to.

I did finish Andor, I think from memory the last two episodes were very good.

I tried to watch Ice Road: Vengeance last night. Started off weak, but figured it might improve. Oh my.... it went downhill fast. Switched it off.

We tried to watch King & Conqueror (iPlayer), which has Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from GoT in it, but straight away it was crap. The scenes looked too much like set pieces, script was poor, acting just seemed wooden. Meh. Strange because BBC stuff can often be quite good, although Hostage was also disappointing with the complete lack of realism.

Moved straight onto Black Summer (Netflix) and immediately you can see the difference in production values straight away. Loving it so far, but I've heard it's been later cancelled, which is a shame. Was looking forward to another long term Walking Dead type series.

Not streaming, but just started Band of Brothers. I've seen it before and it has excellent production values (I'm saying that too much lol), but this time I'm doing it on Blu-ray with the full surround and it's glorious!

If you're up for some stupid fun and gore, have a look at "Day Shift" on netflix. Funny vampire hunter thing.

Fantastic series! I had the DVD box set and must have watched it through at least 4 times

Z Nation series (5 seasons) on Prime is very good i preferred it to the Walking dead and Black summer series if you've not seen it give it a try.

I'll check out Z Nation cheers!

Been watching Black Summer (it's in my post you've quoted! lol) and whilst production values are good I feel like there's a main story there that it's taking a long time to get to. Also, the noises they make are more comical than scary lol

We are taking a break from it and watching The Capture, it's excellent and very interesting.

Watched "Black Rabbit" on netflix over the weekend. Really liked it. Pretty dark, but worth a watch.

After BOB I had high hopes but I didn't enjoy Pacific near as much for whatever reason.

Well I bought the Blu-ray last week, so... thanks. lol

Ha, sorry, it just didn't gel with me, though I may give it another chance. It's more a testiment to how bloody good BOB was, I guess I went in thinking it'll be more of the same but it has it's own 'feel' - let us know how you find it, I might give it another crack

Finished Ed Gein - Monster. Not bad at all and lots of thing drop into place regarding other serial killers and Hitchcocks Psycho movie and Anthony Perkins.
Not Netflix or Prime but I'm watching Task on Sky. Enjoying it a lot too.

House of Guinness. Loving it. Made me go out and buy a pack, but both local shops were out of stock. Not just me then lol

It certainly enhances the viewing experience with a pint of Guinness sitting by your side.

It had been a long time since I'd had a Guinness and I think my memory of it had deceived me into overpreparing lol

Watched episode 1 of the Dune series on Prime while backyard camping, ah i couldn't get into it as it was a way to overly feminine story plot. Will episode 2 cater for males or at least partly cater, wont know till the next camp adventure.

King & Conqueror - not great, the thing that annoyed me most was the extensive use of Icelandic ponies which were so utterly wrong for England/Normandy; but they shot it in Iceland so I guess they worked with what they had. Money-saving at the expense of production values. It did make me go and do some historical research though to remind myself about the Anglo-Saxon kings.
GoT- never have watched, just not my thing these days despite living close to where it was filmed!
BoB - superb, watched it many times
Pacific - not as gripping nor easy to follow as BoB, but good. Very poignant at the end when guys are returning home at the end of the war

Best at the moment: Slow Horses and Blue Lights

NEVER let an Icelander hear you call their equines ponies!!! Like many things, they've just shrunk in the cold...

Agree about Pacific, I'm not enjoying it as much and the characters are not as strong. I'm having hazy memories that it's not what I remember from watching it in the past. I'm wondering if I'm thinking about The Thin Red Line.

Ah, Slow Horses. I couldn't remember the name, the optician recommended it.

Some do say it's a meal in itself lol, but whenever I drank Guinness I found it so easy to down quick, I'd be on pint 10 within a couple hours.

Morning after wasn't so pleasant though

Thin Red Line is Epic!

I felt similar about Pacific, I think BOB being so top notch kinda upped expectations a bit much

Started watching the Chernobyl mini series (2019) and finished episode 2. It's fantastic and slightly terrifying. Yeah, let's stick to windmills....

Supposed to be very good. I'm struggling to find much at the moment.

Finished season 3 of the The Diplomat. I've been enjoying this series as well.

Just starting season 3 of Slow Horses.

I got 2 episodes to go.

"Harlots" is a bit different. I'm running that as a backup ;)

The new season of The Witcher was pretty decent considering all of the complaints about the main character being replaced.

Servant was a very good watch.

I know it's petty, but I could never take to the Witcher series after playing the games - they just went too far off the rails for me personally, no doubt I would have enjoyed it more if I never got into the games. Storylines like the Bloody Baron in the game kept me engrossed, they skipped a lot of this in the series, many of the characters were very different too.

Servant, I enjoyed the first 2 seasons then it just ... went off ... maybe I should return to it? It got really sluggish and 'odd' for me through season 3

Season 3, last episode. Why! That was a little ridiculous.

Started season 4 and good to see Gary Oldman still on top form, had me chuckling away with his sarcastic demeanor!

"Relay" on Amazon
Very clever film.

Well I didn't see that coming lol
Or me ;)

"She rides Shotgun" is pretty decent. I'm going through stuff waiting for Fallout season 2 :)

I just added that to my watchlist (it came up on main highlight section). Can't wait for Fallout S2, loved the first season.
