Hi,

We have an epson 4180 photo, and it is not ideal for scanning negatives and slides due to slow and poor quality. Can anyone recommend anything else? What do you use for this type of work?

I use an Epson v500 and am very pleased with the speed and the results I get from it.

Epson V700's are supposed to be excellent.

I have the V600 and it's very good too, the new LED light speeds things up enormously compared to my older cold cathode scanner.

All the Epsons are pretty good, you could look at an old 4490 or 4990 if you can't stretch to the new V500 or 600.

I see PC are offering the V700 at a really good price now compared to a few months ago Now £366 over £0 cheaper than Amazon etc

Epson Perfection V700 is the best scanner. The picture quality of the picture scanned through this scanner is really fantastic. The speed and the results are also satisfactory.
