Hi all,

what rechargeable batteries you using for your flash unit?

i have nikon SB600 flash and want to get some rechargeable batteries for it (for quick recycle times).

so any advice welcome :help:

can you post me the link where to buy it from too  (i will need charger for them too)

Thank you

Sanyo Eneloops for me - Amazon or 7 Day Shop stock them. :)

Another vote for Eneloops, but try to get the 2000mAH ones.

what is the best charger for them, it's very important I guess too. not bothered about charging time, will get at least 8-12 batteries (the quicker the better, but i need batteries to keep a lot of charge)

As everyone else has said sanyo eneloops the 2000mAH ones............

However I was in a bit of a bind today had two flash's delivered and for got the eneloops so rushed down to the poundshop and picked up some kodak extreme (6 in a pack) so far 500 shots with flash and there still going strong so if anyone's ever in a bind and needing some cheap batterys there's your answer.

so 3 votes so far for Sanyo Eneloops....

anyone else out there ? ooops, it's a bit late ...

so i guess more opinions and suggestions tomorrow then.

I've got a stack of Vapex instants - the same technology as Eneloops.

However they're about the same price, at just under £6 for 4 (which does include a plastic case.

They've just increased the capacity from 2300 to 2500 as well which is a bonus.

Another + for the Eneloops.... Superb performance.

Currently using Duracell rechargeable....2450mAh.
Seem to do the job OK for me.

JOD.

The eneloops are rechargeable and will just keep going on and on - Way better than any Duracell batteries I've used

I've got a lot of 7dayshop own label 2900mah and they last ages. I took over 800 flash photos on 1 set. You do however need a good charger, I got a Vapex v6280 and charges 8 at a time in under 3 hours.

If quick recycle times are your main priority, these are the ones to go for.

Eneloops are great and are the batteries that stay in my flash (and Bluetooth mouse, radios etc) as they last ages without discharging themselves, but if I'm using a lot of flash and want fast recycle times I use my 2900mAh batteries to benefit from the extra power available. It is just a case of right tool for the job, if the OP wanted to know which rechargeable batteries won't lose their charge Eneloops would have been my suggestion.

+1 for the BL700 battery charger, but it is slow which is better for the life of the battery.

thank you everyone

will look for some eneloops then with sanyo charger (should be good combo)

Eneloops all they way for me, charge them as slowly as you can be bothered. Technoline/Lacrosse chargers as mentioned are pretty much the best tool for the job, forget generic fast chargers as they'll just cook your batteries :)

If you want a good charger as opposed to a cheap one, look at Annsmann.

Best I have found is a Cheap as Chips Eneloop Equivilent

Branded TRONIC they are 2100mah and From Aldi of all places, and at £1.99 for 4 AA a real bargain, They are every bit as good as the most expensive ones out there

I use 4 in the flash and 8 in an external battery pack, and have not had an event yet where I have even come close to getting low on power or loosing recycle time,

All I would suggest is check if Aldi still have any (They are one of the offer items that comes and goes), and give them a try for £1.99 I think you will be happy with performance and Quality.

without doubt the eneloop batteries are superb

What's the best charger for them this day & age? as I think this thread was heading for antique until I posted :geek:

+1 for eneloops, found them to be great with my 430ex II,
They're best to be recharged slowly from what ive heard too.

I use Energiser 2300mAh in an couple of Nikon SB-600

They are also in old Minolta & Olympus cameras which I use for infrared photography.

The old cameras eat normal alkaline batteries for fun

I have them in a Maglite torch with an LED conversion lasts for ages

I use the Energiser 1 hour fast charge which I can use in the car

They hold their charge for a long time without dropping off

I must have about fifteen sets in various kit all over the house & car

Thanks guys - I just picked up some eneloops (2000 version) and a AccuCell BC-700, perhaps that charger can revive some of my old cheapie batteries too
