Hiya guys im wondering what you lot us for your flash? Mine are running very low and i just been using standard alkaline up untill now.

What are the best rechargeable AA batteries around atm?

Uniross Hybrio, Sanyo Eneloop or Instant. They are NiMH which hold most of their charge for extended periods. Conventional NiMH can be had with higher capacity, but that's useless to you if they've lost their charge after a month. Look for a type with a capacity of 2100mAh.

I'm not sure about "best" but I use NimH 2700mah Fujicells and they are really good.

Never used them in a flash, but my R/C requirements (for transmitters, not the cars!!) I always used Vapex - considered some of the best within the RC communities where AA or AAA batts are required - the ones I have are 2900mah, but they do require a decent charger, although can be recharged in around 20mins at a push

thanks markta its a lil bit to much ££ or is it worth getting this? im just wondering the dif between a £20 charger and a £50 one?

Well my analyser can refresh batteries by trickle charging, analysing their capacity so that you can pair them up accordingly to their actual mAh rating. Also has about 8 charging rates.

The cheaper chargers can charge batteries too quickly, which in turn damages the battery cells IIRC.

This one is apparently very good as well:-

The Eneloops or similar are extremely good quality and IMHO it's not doing service to them by using a poor quality charger. The two chargers I've mentioned are highly recommended throughout the internet, by people who use them.

I haven't looked back since getting mine. Awesome charger

£30.

The serious answer is some have more features like a discharge or condition battery function, these can help keep your batteries in better condition for longer, some also offer multi size charging so you can charge D size torch batteries or even the 9v ones. Wayne

I use 2800ma from 7 day shop, they are about £4.99 for four and are great!! they are much better in my 580EXII that Duracel!!

I also use these in my flashes. But I make sure I charge them before I go out. For general use I use Hybrios (Uniross version of Eneloops), but with flashes I'd rather get more flashes out of them that have them able to sit in my bag for months and not lose charge.
