Best Quality Photobooks?

I'm looking for a good online service to use to create my photobook. I need to have complete creative control over every aspect of the design of the book, and it needs to be able to have text to accompany it.
Price isn't so much of an issue if the book is outstanding quality. I've been messing around with booksmart and i like the control you get from it, but is there something better? and how is the quality with Blurb?

do you have a mac? the photobooks made from iPhoto are superb quality
 
I have just downloaded the free software from My Photobook which works very well ( well for me anyway), the software allows quite a bit of control which you can do at your own leisure. well worth a look, you can always try the software without any obligation.
I'am yet to see the finished quality but have found some positive feed back on here.

Also they have a £5 voucher on till the 31st Dec for first time orders.

I would like to hear any feed back on myphotobook?

One of the digital photo mags has a review of all the main providers this month and Blurb came out top on quality and price.
 
According to Practical Photographer, another one doing a review..

Blurb and Bob Books both got recommended, and Cewe was the winner.
 
I've used Cewe after seeing a friends album. I can't comment on the others as I've not seen them (but have heard very good things about Blurb).

The service and quality I got from Cewe was very good though, I found the software very easy to use.
 
I love the quality of the Mac books you do in iPhoto, but you are a bit limited with the layout especially if you want to add a lot of text.
 
l used Cewe recently...very easy to use, very fast delivery too.

Also, l have used tictacphoto. Belgian company, and they are the only people l can find in the reasonable price range who do protective sheets between the pages. lt adds a touch of class l find. Their customer service is fantastic too....had an issue with a colour background and they couldn't do enough, including sending me a substantial credit on my account for future orders.
 
hmmm i'm still really torn.
I really want something where i can do lots of text and photographs and I want it to look really professional.
has anyone had a blurb book and can they comment on the quality? how about iphoto? how much creative control do you have over the design and how much text can you have. Same with loxley, do they have software for designing the book?

I've just taken delivery of my first Blurb book this morning and I am very happy with the quality for how much it cost. With the 20% discount code I had the 13"x11" landscape hardback book with premium paper and the extra paid to not have the Blurb logo was £38 delivered.

The premium paper is reasonably thick and the print quality is certainly adequate. I'll admit it's probably a far cry from the really top end albums but for a fraction of the price you're not going to expect it to be as good. 1 or 2 of the photos have come out slightly darker then I'd hoped but in general the colours are very good and the photos look as sharp as they seemed on screen when I created the book.

Hi Jo,

I have had 2 books from Blurb in the last month and can say they are really professional. The fact that they have now opened a branch in Europe means you don't have to wait that long for delivery, within 10 days of creating and ordering, both mine turned up in 7 days.

You need to make sure you go for the top quality paper when ordering and also change the logo for one of your own so it doesn't have Blurb anywhere in the book.

I would recommend them to anybody who is thinking of doing a book, really easy to use and outstanding quality. (Blimey if that doesn't get me a discount on my next book.... LOL :lol: )

I ordered my book on 2nd November and received it today (1st December). It was apparently printed in California but the packaging has a postage sticker on it from Sweden so I'm not surprised it's taken so long to get here, it's done a world tour on the way.

I ordered my second book on 24th November and I got an e-mail today saying the forecast delivery date is 3rd December so we'll wait and see.
 
I have only ever used Cewe, they are very flexible with layouts, colours etc and you can have as many or as little in the way of photos or text as you want, and move them around as you please. You have to download the software first though, I got a disc from jessops. The quality I think is also really good.

Eee! That's a bit unfortunate :| let's hope they come good with this next book and get it to you on the 3rd :)
