Hi Guys.

Does anyone have any rcommendations for the best Program (ie easiest to use and something under £100) that covers all of the basic photo editing functions but also allows for use of 3-5 shot HDR and layering/masking?

I love taking landsscape pictures and making clouds look moodier/more atmospheric and a good program for that would be awesome.

I downloaded the free trial of Elements 9 last night so will have a look at that (and I presume you can save pictures as normal when using the trial version or are they sneeky and put a big Adobe watermark over it?)

Hmm anyways I digress. All thoughts/recommendations welcome and appreciated.

Cheers

The trial version works just like the normal version, it just times out after 30 days.
It mught be worth looking at paint shop pro, I don't know if the latest version has HDR though.

Photomatix Pro is an awesome bit of kit. I love it.

Thanks guys.

So if i want to focus on HDR Photomatix. If I want something broader that can do a little HDR (I just want something basic that can give the likes of clouds more delth etc) then Pain Shop Pro?

I presume if I was to go with either then the newest version would be best?

Cheers

Paint Shop Pro does HDR, with very natural results, but it's nowhere near as intense as you can get from Photomatix. X2 won't let you merge from files made from raw files that have been split into seperat exposure unless the EXIF data is manipulated to show equivalent exposure time and F number.

Raw support isn't ad comprehensive as Adobe either, so tough luck uf you have an exotic camera!

Thanks. I have a Canon EOS500D so I don't think that qualifies as exotic.

I was going to get the X3 version so I presume that wont be an issue re the RAW files (ie merging 3 at various exposures from my Canon)?

I used Dynamic Photo HDR I think it was a while ago, that seemed really good
