Anyone seen a good price on this in the last week or so from someone who has it in stock?
£750 less the Canon rebate of £50 (Jessops) seems about the best, let me know please!!

George

Try Kerso, I'm sure he will beat it and you can do the cash back with his deal as well.

Still not too sure on the Canon warrenty on camera purchased from Kerson though (just a warning)

Well I've bought from Ian in the past, but I need one for Monday so that's a no-no. thanks anyway, I'm a big fan of his!!

Warehouse Express might have some in stock now, they told me it would be a couple of weeks about 2 weeks ago :p - they are very usefull if you give them a call, can answer stock questions straight away. Though everytime I have rang and asked the politley laughed and explained how many they have on back order :(

I contacted Ian yesterday about the posibility of a delivery today. Unfortunately he didn't reply in time (past 1 am this morning the poor sod) but I did make payment first thing this morning (£650 + £20 p&p) for delivery tomorrow.

Can't wait now!!!!

Really?

I'm surprised, will give him an email.

Thanks, Nathan.

OK Guys, Ian has one in stock and I'll pick it up tomorrow or Mon.

Cheere Nathan for the heads up:clap::clap::clap:

I dont want to burst your bubble but there is an issue with the 40D charger, unlike the old chargers the new 40D charger has a fold out american 2 pin plug, so unless you can get hold of a converter or have another charger you wont be shooting much.
On the warranty issue I spoke to colchester cameras yesterday and all they require is the reciept, so there is a chance if it goes wrong I may be able to get it repaired here.

I received my 40D from Ian yesterday, complete with converter

Thanks for the heads up. I've a fair few US<>UK adapters athome anyway.

Yea, me too Nathan, and you can always frig one up with a couple of leads and some ins. tape as the voltage will be 110/240 on the charger.

good point anyway, Scrags.

Anyway, going out now to placate the Missus -she wanted a new point and shoot....:lol::lol::bang::bang:

Oh and by the way, I assume the Canon cashback will also apply, I've got it on all the lenses I've bought from Ian- should be £50!

So if that's the case, £600 for a 40D isn't bad AT ALL!!

George

Is that inc a full EU warranty as well?

Andy

Every Canon camera body I sell has Canon USA warranty. As Tim says I won't let you down I will back up myself for 12 months if Canon UK let you down even though UK invoice will cover you.I can also supply paperwork if needed to prove that all VAT and import taxes have been paid. My price on the 40D body is #650 & 20 postage. Regards Ian.

WAAAAAAAAA!!!!

I'm not getting mine until Tuesday now :(

Oh well, good things come to those who wait (even though they have a hyperactive gadget gland!!!)

I'm beginning to wonder how i'm getting away with it myself ;)

PS Partner not Wife, maybe that's the Difference.

Keith, Ran out of adaptors, I usually send one with every camera. How about you get one and I send you the money, a couple of quid from Argos etc. I do have adaptors arriving this week if you can wait a couple days? Ian.

Your lucky, because mine arrived from ian without one.

This thread is really not helping!!! :p

Got the 40D yesterday, and my wife (see my post above re the point and shoot requirement) is delighted with the compact size and the ease with which she can slip it in to her handbag, except when she insists that she takes the 100/400 then she needs the bigger handbag.:lol:
BTW, sory if I misled anyone, I pick it up and save the £20!!
Ian has indicated to me that he may be over early in the New Year, so could be an excuse for the biggest ever Scottish meet......(won't be toooooo difficult as the last one only got 4 of us...!!!)

Thanks again, Ian:clap::clap:

Cheers George, Look forward to meeting up with some of you guys for a pint next year. Ian.

Count me in, just make sure its not around Tam 'o' shanter time.

:thumbs:I couldn't holder out any longer.

It was ether a new Denon AVR 3808 or the 40D :lol:

In the end i settled with the 40D. I had a good look at the 5D though. Although its a much better camera its not the one for me. I though the 40D is much better and quicker for faster moving objects.

I got it with the 17-85IS kit lens.

I was orangly going to get the 24-105L but Jessops was a bit costly on that.

I've only taken a few pictures already with it. However it does feel a lot better then my old 400D.

Very Impressed :thumbs::thumbs:

Andy

When does the cashback offer end for the 40D, I might be bying one soon (from Kerso)

Sweet, i'l hopefully be able to quality it, i'm aming to get one by the end of the year :D

I will shortly start selling 40D bodies that I have sourced from HK. They will come with a UK invoice and (I have personally been able to have HK items repaired in the UK without problem using a UK invoice). If you did have an issue I will provide support including paying for shipping myself if it needs to be returned for repair.

These will be priced at £605 for the 40D body including UK postage and you won't have the hassle of the cashback as I've built this into the price.

Please PM me if you're interested.

Thanks
WB

Strange - I got my 40D from Jessops and it was identical to my old 300D charger - Uk mains plug on a lead to a two pin plug into the side of the charger. Was yours US stock?

Byker, we got ours from Ian, ie US stock, but he supplies an adaptor with it, just happens to have run out but will I understand be sending one to all of us who missed out in thenext week or so when he gets more stock.

Well, Tuesday has now come and gone and still no sign of my 40D. I am now officially ****** off!

I've emailed Ian for confirmation of what's going on. We shall see! :(

<<UPDATE>> It's on its way! I'll just have to be a petulant kid for another day while it wings its way to me. What is it about new camera gear that makes you lose all sense of perspective? lol
