hi all, looking to get some work printed anyone got any recomendations? if this is posted in the wrong place sorry for that

If I were you, I would take a few copies of your favourite pics to a few places on your local High Street and get them to print them for you. Send some off to some postal labs too, then compare all the prints to see which you prefer and see if the price is acceptable too.

dscolour labs for cheap but good

loxely or samsphotolab for high quality prints

other art places for ultra quality art prints etc

Aldi are good imo and very cheap, though some people complained of a 'warming' added to the pics, I couldn't notice it.

dsc are 6p for 6*4s + reasonable delivery, and they're a pro lab as opposed to a teenager in a supermarket...

I'm probably gonna get panned for this but my local Jessops have printed some really nice 18x12in prints for me for about a fiver per print. :)

:cuckoo:

Considering the local Jessops lost two rolls of film my Grandmother gave them to process with photos from the last trips she had taken with my Grandfather before he passed away with only a refund and a couple of wasted trips to the store with them saying errm we cant find them at the moment can you come back tomorrow.

Besides dont you know Jessops must be going into receivership (well there's a thread on it virtually every week  )

Aldi for cheap, Sams photo lab or Loxley for quality.

I used davies colour in Cardiff and collected the prints yesterday, prints were really good. Not as cheap as DSCL but no postage as I collected and they have a pretty usefull ftp program. www.daviescolour.co.uk/

That's just your experience which will understandably be tainted given what happened but from my experience of being an impatient git and not wanting to trust Royal Mail to fold my bloody photos before sticking them through the letterbox (it's happened before to me), I've found Jessops to be reasonably priced and if you talk nicely to the staff, they'll try a little harder to get the job done a bit quicker.

I've paid for overnight printing before now 'cos it's cheaper and been able to pick the prints up at the end of the same day. :)

Cheers,
Si

thanks guys!!!! going to try a sample shot at most of them see what results come back

DSCL 18x12 is around £1 something. Smashing quality and smashing service.

Im with you on this one. never had a problem and I like the quality.

I just had 7 12x18 prints done at Aldi - I was really impressed with them. Printed on Kodak paper, quick delivery (uploaded on Friday night, received in post on Tuesday). This was the first time I have ever had any of my pics printed and I was really pleased with the prints. To top it all - It cost £4.34 for 7 prints and postage. Can't fault that in my book. Will definately be using them again

A fiver for 18x12?

I use Sams, a pro lab who do them for £1.49.
