Where the best place and price to get Lee filters from? I am getting rid of my Cokin P Kit and going for Lee's

I been looking at Warehouse Express at the moment

If you are selling a Cokin P system I may be interested!

I be selling once I find a Lee System and to know whether it worth it or not...

People keep saying to stick with the P Holder and use Lee Filters in but I dont think they would fit

Thanks markta for the info.

That's ok Andrew....

Sorry mate... thank you for the info just not had chance to look at the sites yet

No probs, I think they're a tad cheaper than Warehouse Express and their customer service is undoubtedly better..

Hope it helps you in getting what you want.

PS. the Lees really are awesome, you won't regret the purchase!

Will the Lee Filter glass fit in the Cokin P holder but I dont think they will, will they?

Hmmm £140 for a kit around that hmmmm

Definately not in the standard P holder as the Lees are significantly wider, not even close, but I'm wondering whether Cokin do a non-standard wider filter holder, which may save you a bit of money.

The Lee filter holders are very good *** and will minimise or prevent vignetting, whereas the Cokin filter vignettes big time at the wide angle end (if that's one of the lens you have).

They do fit in the Cokin Z holder, but that's not cheap either!

Excuse me for saying it yet again, if the Moderators read all my posts they'll think I work for Lee.......AND THEY ARE ALMOST RIGHT!! but they are the best filters, but not cheap.....but then neither is a BMW or Ferrari!!

Then if you work for Lee how about giving us a discount :p

I wish I could, but they don't supply directly to the public. I think Robert white is probably the best bet.

Sorry!

Rookies, I think the best way is either a starter kit, or get the basic filter holder and an adaptor ring(s) for the lens diameter(s) you have. Also they have for a tenner a book called "inspiring professionals" which shows examples of various photographers using the Lee system. You can call them on 01264 366245.
Their web site is also good, but was being updated recently. Have a look there. Personally I use the 0.6 and 0.9 NDs the most, some of the more esoteric coloured ones just sit in my case and aren't used.

I will write a tutorial sometime if it hasn't already been done, I'll check.

I am sure that a tutorial would be very much appreciated by the members here.

Well, Tom, I'll do something but I'm pretty busy just now....semi-retirement isn't giving me much time as my wife and I have been doing a lot of travelling, but in the long Scottish winter nights I'll make an effort.

George,

How about if we wanted to do a Group-Buy? Would they be willing to give us a good discount on that? Afterall, if I went to BMW / Ferrari and ordered a couple of dozen I am guaranteed a discount .. with the exception of an Enzo.

Seriously, I am sure there are many here who would love to "upgrade" their filter set from whatever to Lee, me being one of them, and would love to save on a bit along the way. With over 10,000 members here now I am sure there are at lease a couple of handfulls who will be willing to participate  .. would you be able to take this up with the company?

Now that is a great idea :D

Well, I know from previous discussions that they are (understandably) very protective of their dealer network, and do not sell directly to the general public. I have also discussed the question of a visit (they are in Andover) but to be honest my concern is that a) it would have to be through the working week and therefore b) getting enough interested people who would guarantee to turn up!!
My interest in them is that they have bought my company a couple of years ago, and I still do the occasional work for them as an associate.
I'll have a chat about the points on my next visit, however, although that may be some time in the future.

George,

Thank you for taking the matter up seriously, and for the effort. I don't want to pressure you into this .. but if you are ok with asking them, then I see now harm in it .

Of course, you know them better than anyone else here I guess .. and it would be nice to know if this can workout? If not, again, thank you for all the effort; and their stand is fairenough.

Will put a post on the equipment section when I see them, guys, no prob for the help!
