I remember going on a website was like Forbes or something similar and I can't remember exactly what it was.

Does this ring any bells for anyone?

Or can you recommend me a good site for buying cameras & lenses online?

As above on here, ebay and pistonheads have a classified for cameras
 
Mifsuds in Brixham are good for 2nd hand gear. I've bought several items from them it is always as they describe.

Are all some of the ones I've (or friends) have had dealings with and can recommend. Canon Outlet on eBay is worth taking a look, a friend bought several camera bodies from them and I got my 1D from them, although it can be a bidding war if the item is wanted by several people, so be careful not to over bid for an item, seen that lots of times, people paying over the odds
 
For ME, the best place is the Devon Camera Centre (mainly because it's closest!), closely followed by Mifsuds (who aren't too far away). I can get to both so I can see for myself exactly what I'd be buying, although I'm very happy with the way Mifsuds describe their 2nd hand stock. In fact, I've been in the shop while someone's been on the phone, and the shop assistant's been examining the kit minutely, describing even tint scratches in the paint on a tripod collar for a Sigma lens (which one almost expects to be scratched from new!). Also heard very good things about Ffordes, although I've not got any personal experience of them.
