Hi guys, thinking of going to windermere but wondering which part i could go to which is good and requires the least amount of walking, been ill recently so i dont want to push myself at all.

any thoughts welcome.

the watersports centre is good, just parking in the car park there (free) you can walk onto the lake shore :)

Loads to see at Bowness Pier. This may be where buckas has mentioned there are lots of pleasure craft there and also this is the main port of call for all the ferries including an old paddle steamer iirc. may be a fake. I park anywhere round there but at peak times it is VERY busy so just be aware. bloody tourists :)

Have a great time and post some photos when you get back.

I guess the question is, what are you going for ? Photography wise, as has been said, Bowness bay, Waterhead at Ambleside, Gummers How as I say without knowing what you want to gain from it it is difficult to point you in the right direction !

Hi

personally I dont find windermere that aesthetically beautiful, nor inspiring for photography - the lakes is full of such places though - Buttermere, Derwentwater and Keswick to name but two examples?

+1 for that

I would say go to Keswick instead, the lake is very accessible from there and much much more photogenic than windermere

thanks for that guys, i have recently been to kewick (derwent water) and it was fantastic, thought id try a different lake out, thanks for all your comments, i may try and do both next time im there.
