As title, usual question I guess but couldnt see in an obvious thread after reading through.

I currently use speedlights but they are of no use in powerful sunlight (hell even 'some' sunlight)

So whats the best mobile flash, ideally over 500watt or at least that much, I want to be able to attach light modifiers such as soft box and beauty dishes also and main use will be out door model shoots.

For that price, you're either looking at s/h Lencarta LiIon or similar, or taking a risk on a direct import from China on ebay.

I'm looking at a jinbei energon 350 to power my strobe on location. Basically 240v pcb vagabond mini. Wish lencarta would offer a version for their warranty and support. Any chance Gary?

The Godox is a Bowens S fit.

Sorry but that's not going to happen - we give 3 years warranty on everything, so can only afford to sell items that aren't likely to keep our repair people busy.

Just too clarify I don't mean just rebadge it but for people with existing lights a small li-ion battery pack would be a hot seller. Look how popular the pcb Einstein and vagabond mini is stateside. You've got the super fast, which I'll hopefully be able to fund in the not impossibly distant future, but there's not really a vagabond alternative at present by anyone for Europe barring the jinbei. Worth a thought... Anyway sorry for the thread hijack.

Any answers to my questions guys ? lol No idea what you fellas are on about, lol
There's fans in the US where Adorama are selling their own branded version, Photomart sold (sell) the previous version, maybe the batteries are interchangeable (they're not I just looked).

Not a lot of mainstream portable strobe systems in that price range. Lencarta have the safari but even used its gonna stretch your budget. They also have the atom but tops at 360watt and may restrict modifier options. There's the jinbei system you've said http://www.ukphotodistro.co.uk carry jinbei and would be worth contacting re spares etc. Or else your looking external battery and mono head but your looking at Chinese imports for battery again with that too to stay in budget and the big if is reliability and after service, which is even more important if it being moved a lot on location.

Thanks for all the info guys.

Another photographer I know actually uses top end studio/non battery lights and then powers them off a genny! never thought of this, whats your take on this folks ?

Seen some pretty decent 2000/2500watt gennys which are not only useful for stuff other than photos but could also power a couple of decent studio lights.

Thinking this way I would get 'more for my money' in that I wouldn't be paying for all the battery tech as well.

Thoughts ?

Unless the genny produces pure sine wave output (there are some very expensive ones that do) using a genny is a sure fire way of destroying any modern flash head.
