Hi,

Wondered if people could advise their preferred online processor - the wife's got fed up of just looking at shots on the screen.

Thanks for your help - Gray

I use DS Colour Labs...fantastic service, fantastic prints, and cheap as chips too :)

They give the option of delivery or pick up in store if you have one near by!

I used Loxley this week and was very impressed with the prints. Very flexible ordering software, great range of products, and prompt delivery too (had photos 36 hours after uploading).

Gray......there have been numerous threads on this forum regarding this subject over recent months.

These cover Photobox; Loxley Colour; togsPrint; dscolourlabs; and many many more companies. From what I have read (and it's worth you having a read of the previous threads yourself) there has been positive and 'developmental' feedback for most if not all of them.

What's been good for someone else might not be good for you. So I'd recommend trying some out and seeing the results for yourself. Maybe send a small order off to a few of them and compare the quality of the prints.

For what it's worth, and I've posted this point previously, I've had a few problems with quality from Photobox earlier this year. I had used them for years with no problems at all. However my last few orders with them resulted in dark prints (6"x4"). I have used dscolourlabs recently and have been very pleased with the results  You may find that if you do use Photobox that the results are very good  If that's the case then hopefully they've taken on board the numerous cases of customer dissatisfaction over recent times!

Hope this helps?

Hi - thanks for the replies - I'll check out the threads as you suggest - I tried Photobox recently and was a bit disappointed.

Appreciate your help - Gray:)

I use both Loxley and Photobox - very pleased with quality and service from both...

Peak imaging are the company I use for my exhibition prints, the prints are perfect.

whoever is cheapest, they all use the same equipment in the end. DScolour labs at the moment if I want someone else to print my pictures

No offence Poah, but that's very wide of the mark. Even if all the companies used exactly the same machines, (for example a Fuji, Konica, Noritsu, Kodak lab,)there are many variables that affect how the final prints will look.

For instance: Do they follow the set-up procedure each morning? (Even if they say they do?) Do they calibrate the machine for differences in emulsion batches very time they load a new roll of paper? Etc, etc...

My advice, as already suggested by someone else, would be to send a few sample prints off to the various companies and see what works best for you. To say they're all the same just isn't true.

I use Peak Imaging and have always been very happy with both the prints and the turn around time.

Never tried anyone else though so have no comparisons!!

I used to use loxley and was happy but recently upgraded (in my eyes) to peak imaging. Yes they cost more than most others but I have nothing but excellent service from them. Started using their foam board mounting service for 20"x20" client prints and find it cheaper than getting my local framery to do it.

i use photobox never had problem

I see no difference from DS colour labs, loxely, photobox, or asda in print matching so where is the point in spending extra just because of the name of the place.

You've obviously been lucky then, most of the prints I've had back from photobox are garbage they are very dark and dull yet when I take the same file to my local asda\sainsburys or use boots online they come out fine, quality does indeed seem to vary.

Another vote for DScolourlabs, excellent quality & suprisingly cheap...I use them frequently for 18x12 inch prints & can't recommend them highly enough

Also used Togsprint & quality is excellent, find Photobox pretty good most of the time

I have recently used One Vision Imaging Ltd for a commission I shot and was very pleased with the results and quick service. The sales and support team are very helpful.

I also rate them, although I tend to pop into their office as it's not too far from me...

I use DSCL, Fantastic quality and prices, Service is 2nd to none but the postage bit gets my goat, To ensure you get prints next day you now have to use Special at nearly £7 a go. Even recorded isnt quick enough now, Annoying though as when I post a letter or parcel it gets there next day using 1st class or recorded.

Anyway, suppose print prices offset the postal charges so not all bad.
