I have just registered and know very little about photography.

Hoping that I don't open a can of worms, which magazine do members recommend ?

I need one that will not only help me with tutorials, etc but also keeps me up to date with new kit.

Thank you, in anticipation.

Hi John  enjoy the forum

As for worms, I read Digital Photo, but there are loads to choose from.

Hi and as above a warm welcome to TP.
Hope you enjoy yourself here :)

There are plenty of magazines to choose from, some are make specific - Photo Plus / EOS magazine for for Cannon users, others are generic...Best thing is to have a flick through a few at local shop and buy the one you like the look of. If there are new releases, most of them will cover it.

Also worth bearing in mind, they do tend to repeat / update articles over a period of time...

Hi John, And welcome aboard TP."Enjoy".

Welcome aboard. Personally, I buy Amateur Photographer (as well as Outdoor Photography but that's not really a magazine for beginners) and would recommend that. It's a long time since I've read most of the others, I found they went on 12 month cycles so you don't need to read them for too long. Maybe look into Digital Camera, I used to read that a lot when I started out.

Hello John:welcome:!

Another vote for 'Amateur Photographer'. A lot of it's above my knowledge level but "onwards and upwards";)!

This is a great website for short tutorials:

It's Australian, but we won't hold that against it:D!

Hi John, save your money and use the university of YouTube. I gave up with mags as they all mostly try to sell you stuff.

Many thanks to you all for your greetings and advice required magazines, all very useful.

Regards.
