Best free or less than $30 FTP loader?

Filezilla here too

easy to use and reliable transfers. Over the years I have used most ftp clients and some have great user interface but poor performance and others have shoddy interface but work a treat. Filezilla site in the middle of the user interface stakes but leads the pack in performance and reliability of transfers in my experience.

Fireftp for me

From what I can remember of cute ftp (from when I trialled it), the interface is quite similar.... You can use drag and drop, or right click upload etc.

I use Core FTP lite, free for personal use and it works :)

Another filezilla fan here and have been for a few years. Does everything you need.

I use "windows explorer", its free, and I guess unless you are using a mac, you will be used to it!!! :D

Open My Computer or My Documents etc, and in the address bar type in:

FTP://hostname (for example)

Enter your username, password

Full windows functionality.

You may miss some things like CHMOD etc, which I forgot about to be fair. I transfer from Windows to Windows, so not an issue here.

I used that on my XP box but my Vista box asks me for my username/password everytime :bang:

I have tried most, as I have been a web developer for the past 7 years.

Most isnt all, therefore, you can say its the best by far. Just being picky. You could say, its very good / great. But unless you have tried all, and probably a lot, then sayings its definately best is wrong.

Not wanting to pick holes or anything ;)

Get a life Gary, you must be really bored if you spend your time picking everything everyone says apart like this. The man's entitled to his opinion and doesn't need to run it by you for approval.

I have a life, an opinion would be "Its great", "Its the best" is a fact.

And BTW, try turning your sense of humour chip back on, you will find the switch on the back of your head. My replies were light hearted and well intended.

Would also love you to find a few more threads with me "picking everything everyone says apart like this"....

Have fun looking, the torch is in the cupboard.

Couldn't fit all that into one reply eh? Try taking a deeper breath next time.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I downloaded Filezilla and will give that a crack later today, when I hobble off my laptop onto my PC :) (which is windows, not MAC)

Will let you know hoe I get on.

Good luck mate, and sorry for the mess in your thread. This place at times, I just dunno.

Let me know when you succeed in backing up your original claims, the time it will take I will have had a lifetime of deep breaths.

As I said, have fun looking
