Best Free Editing Download

Paint.net is also good.
Picasa3 if you want something simple to start with.

ok thanks guys. I have tried Picasa3 but not too keen on it. At the moment I have PhotoImpression 4 which I had a disc for and I've got something called Photoscape.

But I have heard about Gimp a few times so I will have to take a look at that.

Ideally, what is the best photo editing softwear, if money isn't an issue?

If you can afford a few quid I'm told Tescos own photo software (only seen it once) is near as damm it a copy of photoshop 7, it was around a tenner when I saw it a few weeks back.
Freebie ones paint.net and Gimp, but haven't used any of them personally, but both have a good reputation.

Picasa 3, ok not the best editing software you can get (limited), great gallery space, better than photoshop elements, but its free and does the basics.

Photoshop Elements, Paintshop Pro are all affordable and the older versions can be bought for pence on eBay etc

Some of the bundled software with the camera's ain't bad, DDP from canon is usable.
