Kodak Tri-X

^^^ Tri-X. If you shoot a roll and the grain isn't enough (especially since the latest formulation of Tri-X is different to 'historical' Tri-X), shoot it at ISO800 and it should give you exactly what you want.

Ilford HP5+ is also quite grainy, but, (and this is very subjective), the grain is not especially pleasing.

IF you want a grainy film which isnt too fast, Kentmere do an ISO100 film, Kentmere is part of Ilford and they make the budget/student range. It's grainy, but it's cheap

Lucky 100 B&W on the fleabay site, should be able to get 5 rolls for £15.00

Lucky 100 from Mr Cad is 10 rolls for £20, it's dated June 2010 but I'm still using it and it's fine.

Develop your Tri-X in rodinal and you're all set for grain :D

Shoot Fomapan 100 at ISO1600 and develop in Rodinal... grain the size of golf balls probably! (I don't recommend doing this!)

Thanks Nick, I will have a look at that.

Tri-X or HP-5 at 400 give noticeable grain (or at least they did 30+ years ago!) but for unmissable grain, FP-4 at 800...

Nasty colour casts with OOD films...:p
