Hi guys,

I'm in the process of selling all my DSLR stuff and I am left with just my 7D along with a few minor bits to go. I usually send stuff using Royal Mail but I know that they don't like taking batteries. What worries me is that I have heard a couple of stories in the past where they have detected a battery in a parcel along with the camera it's used in and proceeded to dispose of it, leaving the sender with no camera and no compensation!

I certainly don't want this to happen to me so I was wondering if you guys knew of a good, safe courier that accepts batteries to be carried?

Cheers.

Oh that's great. I had no idea about that.

I just assumed that once you told them it had a battery they'd refuse it. Thanks very much.

Cheers.

after the royal fail increased there prices to jesse james level i stopped using them ,i now use a company called collect plus ,they offer either 3-5 day delivery or next day having sold a couple of cameras and lenses last year and sent them via collect + .its worth looking at .
first go on there website and join ,enter the details of your parcel .i.e size weight destination ,then which service you want to use a typical price will be for a up to 10kg parcel valued at £500 next day del around £11 ,tracked ,insured etc.print out the online label and take it the to the pick up point
they have full live time tracking and a contact phone number open till 9p.m .
all you need to do is find a local pick up point small shops etc .which they list online .

TOTALLY BRILLIANT SERVICE WHICH PUTS THE ROYAL MAIL TO SHAME

My wife sells vintage/antique ceramics on ebay as a living. She started to use couriers when RM raised their prices in april last year, what a disaster. Fortunately RM have reduced there prices in certain categories so most of our stuff goes via them again. Have to say of the over 300 parcels she posted last year only 4 arrived damaged, 1 via hermes and 3 via collect+.
