... racing and taking static shots of cars.

i'm off to a ford fair on the weekend and just wanted to know whats the best settings to use for both occasions? :)
really want to bring out the colours of the cars and make them shine!

i've a nikon D5000 with both 55mm and 200mm lens.

any tips and hints would be much thanked!!!

AF-C mode for moving cars.

You can keep it on AF-C for static cars if you like or change it to AF-S which is better suited to static subjects.

If you want to bring out the colours be sure not to over expose the cars.
 
If you have one available, use fill in flash for your static shots.
