Best Camera for Macro Photography

Hi,

I am new to this forum and joined to ask this question about Macro Photography as there are various DSLR out there for macro photography but I was wondering which is the best POINT and SHOOT camera for macro photography in your opinion.

sorry, not a useful answer, it really depends on what you want to do, how far you want to go and how much you can afford.

OK, I will try to explain my question a little bit. I know lenses are to be used for macro photography but there are some point and shoot cameras like Nikon coolpix 4500 which can be used few centimetres away from the object and it will give very impressive result.

I wanted to know if there are more cameras out there.

Check out posts in the macro section by a guy called Ajophotog - he gets fantastic results using a Panasonic FZ8 and a Raynox macro adaptor. It's an inexpensive setup that can produce some astounding results.

I used to have a coolpix, and the macro setting was suprisingly detailed. You can also get a macro adaptor for the lens to get closer than the macro mode will let you.
