What is some of the better bridge cameras
The FZ1000 is faster in operation than many SLR's [AF acquisition, shot-to-shot time, mode changes etc] and it has an excellent electronic viewfinder that's about the same viewing size as a full framer. The lens is bright [up to a 400mm f/4], sharp and corrected throughout, and the results from the 1" sensor are excellent in print. I like to keep a fast prime around for really shallow DOF shots, though, but for everything else the Panny is too good.
I don't have much experience with the Sony, but these new bridges are superb. One tip - I shoot 4k video for action these days. Effectively, I'm shooting 8MP images at 60fps for minutes at a time. Awesome!!
About £600Do you have a budget?
The Sony RX10 ii is one of the best out there, but at a premium price. Costs can range from a couple of hundred quid to over £1000...
Your budget will get you either the Panasonic FX1000, Sony RX10 I or a used RX10 II (if there are such things). I've had an RX10 I since it was released and have been very pleased with the results. There are new bridge cameras coming from Nikon but they won't be here until at least June. You need to read the reviews on DPReview and try to find a shop with both in stock so you can handle them before purchasing.
What's wrong with your 6d?So the Panasonic FX1000, is prob the way to go?
