I have searched the forum and come up with a few results. But what are the best batteries for the job?

I have heard about Powerex & Sanyo Eneloop brands but I am wondering which brand to go with?

The Sanyo Eneloop's are about £6 + delivery at a few quid? from 7dayshop, which I was told to avoid as they had some credit card issues?

The Powerex's are £15 from Maplin.

Which one would you go for? I want fast recharge times and decent life as a priority.

Regards,

Eneloops - and 7dayshop's problems with credit card details going astray are a thing of the past, however I'm sure day2dayshop.com were cheaper and there are voucher codes floating around for them too.

7dayshop eneloops. Everything from 7ds is now free delivery. Maplin are a rip off and reserved solely for emergency purchases imo :P.

no credit card issues any more, that was one incident, now sorted afaik. They use an external company payment system for their checkout system anyway iirc... :S

unless those are more than half price vouchers, the eneloops will be cheaper from 7ds :P

I've never had a problem with the Fujicell that i buy on fleabay and there 2700 mAH.

+2

Bought three sets and havent even had to use the second set in a day yet. They just seem to go on forever and dont lose power between togger days.

Is it OK to use any charger with the Eneloop batteries?

Sanyo's website seems to indicate that you should use their own charger but it could just be a sales oppertunity

I've recharged mine lots of times with the charger that came with a set of Uniross Hybrios, and it doesn't seem to have done them any harm. Some people recommend the sophisticated chargers that check, condition and recharge the cells individually, but they're expensive and I don't know if they're worth it. Anyone?

I agree with PhotoTalk, I've got 3 sets of 7DS own brand (2800), and recently did a wedding, 7 hours, all inside ( due to bad weather ) and I didn't make the 3rd set, and I took over 400 photos.

I've just bought some Eneloop AAs...they worked straight out of the packet :)

Can anyone tell me if an old(er) Energizer Ni-MH & Ni-Cd battery charger will charge the Eneloop batteries?

The charger states:

Energizer Ni-MH & Ni-Cd battery charger
Model: Compact Charger
PRI: 220-240V ~50Hz 7W
SEC: AA-2 x (2.8V - 240-280mA) 1.568VA
AAA-2 x (2.8V - 120-13-mA) 0.728VA

Thanks in advance
julian

I use the Uniross/Encore AA's, I have a dozen or so of them. Mine are 2700 mAh and do a great job.

I only use Maplin for emergencies as well but they must have had a typo on their Energizer Nimh section. I walked out with 12x 2750mah + 4 bay 1 hour charger for £20 :)

Have a look at

www.expanxe.co.uk

for their rechargable Alkaline RAM batteries. These batteries (I have them for my flashgun) do not loose power when not in use and are 1.5v against the 1.2v normal ones.

Just a word of warning, I have had to cancel my card today as a blind association in the US (New York) tried to make a transaction on my account. It was only 10p but they were obviously testing the water.
I have only used my card twice in the last week and a half and that was at 7 day shop and at a cash point in a local petrol station.
Im not saying its defiantly 7 day shop but keep an eye out :suspect:

I've known quite a few people that have had this when using Petrol Stations, it seems to be one of the most common places to have your card cloned.
