Anyone used them? I know, I know - buy cheap, buy twice. It's not me at all but not sure how much use out of a 130 x 30 box I'm going to get and I wanted to give it a try. The Lencarta is actually £150 with grid which does look much better but....

I'm the same as Chris, I've got experience with their backdrop support and vinyls and they are both of extremely good quality.

I use their 120x30 strip softboxes (with grids). No problems at all!

I use them for keeping the light off the background...small studio!

Use their 120cm octabox, great quality and happy

Just ordered a Lencarta one in the end, hey ho.

Just looked at your website Mike, some great images there.

I know - buy cheap, buy twice.

Not in this case, i have 2 of the 60x60 Bessel softboxes, and i think they are of good quality, i also have Lencarta ones, and can't really see any difference, as long as you look after any kit, i can't see any reason why it shouldn't last a good few years.

+1 for Bessel. I have the 120x30 gridded box. I also have an assortment of other makes and the Bessel one is one of the better quality ones.

I've got 2 of the 120x30s and there far better quality then the other similar price chinese branded ones, really thick quality material only thing that is a bit lightweight is the quick ring but it does the job, used them loads and nothing to complain about and loads cheaper then the more well known brands.

I have the 120cm Octa and have been extremely happy with it. The centre metal rod does wear down a bit too quickly rendering the softbox useless, however they are under a fiver including delivery so I see it as another disposable bit of kit!

I also have the silver beauty dish by Bessel - no complaints, well made and has taken a few knocks and drops only suffering minor scratches.

2x 120x80 Bessel pop up brolly type boxes for me, good value with front lip and grid for feathering, also have a beauty dish though not had chance to use it properly yet, but it looks of good quality will buy from them in future :-)

With so many people on this forum using Bessel and saying nice things about their products perhaps they should offer a 10% discount voucher code for Talk Photography members and get even more sales! Anyone from Bessel out there reading this post????????????????????

Yes, I'm reading this.

I'll be brief, since I'm not an 'Advertiser' I'm not allowed to post on this forum to promote my company by offering promotional codes or web addresses or exhibitions that we will be attending in 2013. So I won't.

Just to say thank you for all the positive comments, much more to come in 2013.

Merry Christmas everyone :)

I've hauled my 2x gridded strip boxes all over the country and they still look like new. Fantastic quality at a bargain price tbh.

Sean, there's always opportunities for taking on advertiser status. :)

The guy who owns it is a real nice guy lives 2 miles from me, he said he had too many conflicts with those above on here :) I only have the vinyla which works really well, I would say his customer service is as good as Bowens who I use for my stuff .10/10

I've personally dealt with Sean and I have no doubt he's a nice guy.

Re. Your comment of conflicts, That's a bit strong really. When Sean/Bessel first made an appearance on here the posts were of a commercial nature and contravened our advertising policy and iirc multiple user accounts were created which also break the rules. From a TP pov we have no issues with Sean / Bessel applying to become an advertiser in the future IF all our rules and policies are adhered to, and from a member pov I'll happily look to Bessel again for softbox purchases..... If I had space I'd love a big gridded Octobox :D

I only use Bowen pro kit , But I do think Bessel and lencarta are very very alike as in price and quality, thats where I think conflicts might happen. He just seemed to think he was being targeted. but if he was breaking the rules fair enough.

Targeted , not a chance. Everyone is equal, our advertiser policy helps keep this place free for members and thus we do not tolerate breaches.

:)

I have a big Bessel octobox and think it's great . The build quality is good from what I've seen and for the amount of use I give it should last me some time .
As for them joining the forum , it could only be for the good of the forum . Supplier networking is always a good thing .

Hi all

I'd be happy to join the forum and become an advertiser. If someone let me know the cost and what I need to do :)

All the best

Sean
