If that's an EF-S 18-55 lens then the simplest answer would be to chuck it away and get another. They typically sell for not very much on eBay - I sold one for £20 to a mate who was just getting started in photography.

It appears to be the old nonIS kit lens in your picture, I would say it wouldn't be worth repairing (at any cost) as its only worth £20-30.

Try and find an 18-55IS version to replace it with, most second hand ones sell for around £50 (probably still cheaper than a repair on the old one).

ok folks... I just fixed it!! I was twisting it around and heard a click sound and it actually ended up i fixed it! Its working now both AF & MF! How bloody lucky am i... a big thanks to yourself for the advice also guys :)

Lucky, but just be aware it is probably a warning of something loose or damaged in the lens barrel.

I'd start saving up for a replacement as it could reoccur at any time (and may not click together again).

Yeah il strongly take your advice on this one! Start saving for a Lens and if its still working fine then keep saving for a 550D.

Thanks Dave1!
