Hi everyone, I'm thinking of purchasing a Benbo kit to use with my Canon 40d has any one got one and are they happy with them. Thanks

I have the Trekker II with ball head, it rocks. You'll have some fun learning how to set it up at first though :)

I had the Trekker mk1 it was great I sold it As it was a bit cumbersome to lump around but I was wishing i still had it last weekend as its ideal for the middle of streams etc.

I had a much used / loved Trekker. I never had problems with it as it was the only tripod design I'd ever used.

The "paint" on the legs eventually blistered making it difficult to open them up.

I tried a new Trekker but found that changes/additions to the design since I'd bought mine had all led to more wobble. I suspected it was/is being produced down to a price rather than to a quality.

I had the legs replaced instead of buying a new one but after a couple of years found that the knob allowing you to open/close the legs was so imprecise I never knew if the thing would collapse or not.

It drove me round the bend. I went down the Gitzo route in the end. :)

i had a Benbo 1 with ball head for a couple of years and only sold it in march this year to help fund the purchase of a Manfrotto 55 MF4.
I must say the Benbo is very sturdy and great for landscapes and especially macro, the only problem i found was its size and weight, put it this way you wouldn't want to carry it so far...

I had a Benbo Trekker Kit... didnt use it much as I found putting it up a bit like having a fight win an octopus in a field!

This meant I didnt use it as much as I should've.

I sold it and bought a Manfrotto Pro ... I prefer it.. but its up to the individual.

Thanks eveyone, back to the drawing board I think. So many choices!
