My developer is getting old and I was browsing for some Rodinal to try and found this:

Having not even used Rodinal before, I thought I may ask you chaps first to see if you think it's worth a punt. The price is reasonable - isn't it?

Secondly, I've not tried Pyro yet either - has anyone else?

I've decided I'll dev. a test roll tomorrow in my old DDX to see if it's still OK (should be I think). If all's well, I'll use the rest of that up before I order the Rodinal Bellini. I have loads of rolls to develop, so it should finish it off if I can.

The main idea in giving it a go is that 'everyone' says I should and that it lasts forever . . .

The R09 Rodinal clones do last long, but not nearly as long as the real deal (which is still marketed these days as 'Adox Rodinal' or Adonal).

That said, I routinely use the Fomadon and Compard R09 Rodinal clones, they're excellent. They keep working 1 year or so after you open the bottle IME. I'm sure the Bellini is just as good.

their 250ml is double the price of the Adox stuff so still cheap in dev terms but actually expensive for Rodinal, Bellini are a bit pricey for somethings including Metol which you can get for half the price over at process supplies
