Ok, I unpacked mine this morning and it works a treat so far. Great for £45. There's a reasonable amount of resistance but I suspect that's down to using poor grease and obviously relying on that rather than proper bearings for movement. So there's a certain amount of "etch a sketch" when it comes to diagonal movement.
Weighs maybe a kilo and feels pretty sturdy with little play to speak of.
I came across this video which is for another knock-off version (Neewer) of what looks like an identical bit of kit:

They strip theirs down and the freedom of movement afterwards looks pretty impressive. Has anyone else done this? For the cost of some bearing grease and a plastic washer, it must be worth a go? They claim this will reduce any play to zero whilst allowing freer movement when you want it.
