Behind The Goal Tripod

I should have looked earlier as I was up Dawn's cr....

Facepalm. Thanks for heeding my warnings all of you. I'm now steering clear of the staff room :shake:

Thanks Graham, I'll see if I can get one at a reasonable price.

Grrrr, I've just explained in the pm

Im a bleedin magnet for trouble lately, ah well, no more trying to help out then.

Just retire peacefully, get your pension and been seen and not heard

Apparently the North/South divide came into play and there was a slight misunderstanding. All sorted now though :)

Bloomin Northerners

Told you before... this is why women should not be moderators....

Had a chance to play with the Joby Focus yesterday - pretty good bit of kit indeed as discussed above ... certainly, from what I've had a chance to play with, one that would do the business ... cheers for the info folks ...

Or - make your own :-)
I got stuck with the same issue of wanting a behind the goal tripod at an International Tournament in Cyprus..
One day walking back to the Hotel - I saw a bunch of styrofoam in a skip..
So despite my wife protesting - I carried some back to the room - with a kitchen knife and black gaffer tape. I cut it in to shape and an angle.
Gave it a try the following day.. got some funny looks from fellow photographers, but it worked nicely.
And with couple of extra bits - I can also change the height and angle of the camera.
I know this only works on the ground ... but - once again DIY solution that saves you money!

Can post some pics if you are interested to see my home made stand :-)

Ended up going for the Focus one - seems rock solid and very pleased with the versatility it would seem to offer ... used it twice so far (0 usable pictures but that's just me) and seems very good ... now the challenge begins on ensuring some usable pictures and factoring that into my overall pitch side workflow ....

Cheers for all the suggestions ....

That's the problem Nigel! workflow. Nothing more demoralising than watching your camera go arse up as it's hit with the ball in the 5th min & you just have to sit there till half time . I did once still get some images though as it fell on it's side . Kind regards Graham.
