Hey guys, looking for some recommendations on books for processing.. or websites :)

I've been fiddling with GIMP and Lightroom but it's starting to overwhelm me so I think a book will help.

Thanks.

I have the book mentioned above and its very comprehensive, one to keep and refer to when using Lightroom.
Never used Gimp so no idea on that, but have got Elements 9, used versions 2 and 6 as well in the past, the guided edit on 9 looks a good idea and would no doubt help a newcomer.

Might be best to buy the Kelby book and just use Lightroom for now unless you want to go further with processing, seems to do most of what I need though.

Awesome, I've just ordered the book and that website looks very helpful.

Thanks a lot guys.

I've read some great books, including everything by Michael Langford, which are the beginner photographer's bibles. A good one to start with is http://www.amazon.co.uk/Basic-Photography-Michael-Langford/dp/0240515927

However, online resources are almost as good.

Have a look at one of the following:

http://www.illustratedphotograhpy.com/basic-photography
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Basic_Photography
http://www.waybuilder.net/sweethaven/Journalism/PhotoJourn/default.asp

Hope that helps, and good luck.

Sorry, I didn't realise you were looking for lightroom specific!
