Hello
I m a photography lover and love to click when i get to. But i wasnt trying being pro till now. So to turn a pro i need a DSLR now.
Can anyone please suggest me which camera i should go for as a starter.
As for a camera either stick with Canon or Nikon, go down to a camera shop and try the different models to see which feels the best to you, how much is your budget?
I m planning within 30-32k. I checked out nikon d3100, seems good. But since i m not much familiar with slr, i seek a pro verdict on that.
Please suggest
Welcome form another newbie to TP. 9 months ago I was in a similar situation, not considering become pro though, just for my enjoyment. I bought my first dslr last July. I went to a local camera shop and tried out the different makes and models at that point I was open to all the major manufacturers. I choose the system which felt best in my hands, size/weight/ergonomics as I new I would be holding it for a long time. I had a considered my budget and what I wanted to shoot and chose the dslr best for me at the time. I chose a Canon 60D.
If I was going to shoot a lot of bif or sport then e.g the 7d/d7000 would have been more suited with the extra fps, advanced AF etc. Different models/makes have different pros/cons. Some better in low light/high iso. Full frame or crop sensor etc.
I am just a beginner and there Will be lots of very experienced people on this forum to point you in the right direction, when they know your budget and what u want to shoot and what specs are most important.
Good luck choosing, I love my dslr and get many hours of enjoyment out of it
Jeet hi, what currency are we talking about here as that's a pretty impresive budget if its in UK pounds
Also what type of work will you be doing, sport, reportage, fashion etc or just about a bit of everything?
Cameras (SLR) tend to be designed for specific roles, for instance a Canon 1D (whichever version) is seen as an action type camera, whereas a 1Ds or a 5D more for slower paced stuff like fashion, studio, landscape etc.
Then we'd need to know what you're planning to shoot so we could suggest a lens (or several) to cover your needs.
Sorry but it wasnt in pounds , in pounds it will be £400... Honestly i m planning to shoot bit of everything now. But landscapes attracts me more than anything.
But i like shooting in streets and vintage stuffs also.
Thanks a lot Les... I didnt consider sony actually as all are suggesting to go for nik/canon... But seems tht i ve to check these models as wel...
Once again thanks for your suggestion.
