beginner help

my dilemma is im looking for a new lens but i dont have a lot of cash available. basically i have a 18-55 lens on a 400d i like the lens but i would like one with more reach so to speak it would mostly be used for motorsport and other stuff like zoos and family stuff so what would you recommend im dont mind second hand stuff budget is around 150 thanks in advance

A Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro Lens then you get reach and Macro best of both world Clicky Linky £152 but Im sure you can get them cheaper if you look around

Or the Canon 55-250 IS for about £180 is a cracker for the money, and you get IS!!

Another vote for the Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO macro
It's a great lens for the money and you should get a second hand one for under your budget.

mmm im in same boat only the kit lens!! im looking at the canon 55-250 IS but iv heard sigma are releasing a 50-200 OS HSM for similar price
