Hi everyone, I am new to photography and wanted to invest in 2 lenses - 1 zoom and one for landscapes etc. I have been looking at second hand Minolta lenses but thought that someone on here would be able to help on a decent lens that could be picked up for a reasonable amount?
Thanks in advance. Adam

be a good idea if you tell us what camera your putting these on and what your budget is?

What lenses do you already have? and what type o photography are you into, or are you just playing around at the moment?

Any of these would be good. Particularly the middle one if you're just starting out. Good general zoom lens that lets you concentrate on the camera settings and composition of your images without having to worry about changing lenses.

If you have the 16-50 f/2.8, that will be superior to anything you'll get for £150 for landscapes - in fact, the 18-55 kit lens should be fine (since you typically want to stop down for landscapes anyway).

I would suggest you instead concentrate on getting a better zoom - The Tamron 70-300 SP Di USD is probably the best price/performance option;

This is a reasonably quality lens that avoids the compromises a budget zoom would have - otherwise you'll end up wanting to upgrade in a years time (if not sooner)

I purchased the A77 body only so am looking to get a few lenses to cover zoom and landscape etc

Is this a good lens, wanted some 'real' opinions. Thanks in advance.

As has been mentioned, what is your budget?

I personally have no idea about that lens as I'm a Canon user. But for example, Canon do a good 50mm for if you have a £100 budget, but an AMAZING 50mm if you have a £1000 budget. It's all relative.

I purchase the 35mm f1.8 in the end. Thanks for all your help.
Next on list Tamron 70-300
