I'm looking to get my first ever DSLR. I mostly want it for capturing scenery and capturing those moments. Can ymanyone recommend a good camera?
Budget is about £400

Thanks :)

I have a Nikon D3200, which came with the 18-55mm VR II kit lens. I still use it and it produces great results. It's been superceded by the newer D3300 and D3400 models since then. The D3300 should be easily within your budget (leaving some spare cash for the other stuff you'll want, like a bag etc.). The kit lens is very good, but if you can afford it the 35mm f/1.8 prime is a fantastic little lens to add to it.

You need to go get a short list and try them out. Don't settle for I will get used to it. For you to get the best out of your purchase it has to be right for you. Good luck

I bought a Canon 1300D for £299 with £20 cash back from Jessops, so, brand new, very happy with it, it's a great entry level camera, use the spare cash to get a 50mm f1.8 and you have a very portable and great camera for most subject matter, the 50mm has great shallow depth of field due to the large aperture.

Your first decision is if you definitely want a dslr and not a compact system camera. Second decision do you want new or used.

They are all pretty good these days! Get one in your hand to check out the physical feel of it. They do vary in that regard. And try to assess how accessible the controls are (dials, buttons, menus).
