i have been looking to upgrade to the canon 60d and i looked at a few sites amazon was the cheapest at £747.90 until i noticed the £49.00 shipping cost, can anyone tell me where you get your dslrs from or a site where i can check prices for shops. i have seen someone post a link for price checker site but cant find it. i looked at jessops but find them exspensive.

Hi Ross, go to camerapricebuster.co.uk - thats the best price comparison site I know.

I was quite a big fan of Amazon until I ordered my 60D back in January - first they messed up the stock status (it wasn't in stock, but the site said it was) and then because they missed the delivery estimate by days I cancelled (I was going away) - but to make matters worse because they use CityLink, both Amazon and Citylink messed up and I came back from a 2 week holiday to find a slightly soggy package on my doorstep with a 60D inside. Its a miracle nobody walked off with it, it was there for 3 days.

Citylink's status was 'left in a safe place'. Needless to say I returned that camera.

Thank you travellingcello for the site address and thanks for the advice, i thinking about amazon but like you say about you camera being left, i ordered the sigma 10-20 few months back and when city link delievered that the box was completly crushed and there was not much inside to protect the lens i sent it back to them and got a refund. surely they should not of left it anyway as you should sign for it?

Try Kerso for a quote.

Were you after body only or with a lens as well?

I'm just after a body I will have a look at Kerso now thanks

Just looked at searched Kerso but nothing came up for the 60d

Some people will shoot me down in flames for saying it, but try ebay.

I got my 20D off there, absolutely no problems, and it arrived within 2 days. The Camera itself was in fabulous condition - I couldn't be happier.

When you buy on ebay, always pay through paypal. ebay buyer protection is very useful. This covers you for pretty much all scenarios.

When buying on ebay:

Read Feedback
Look closely at the advert ( dodgy spelling/grammar and a lack of information can be suspicious )

- Don't buy something that doesn't have photo's of it!

You should be absolutely fine if you read feedback and watch for anything dodgy. As i said, ebay buyer protection will cover you if anything happens.

Edit:

Also, look for feedback which is related specifically to the kind of thing you are buying. Always look at negative feedback first.

True that,

But, what would you rather. Wait for a few days an loose no money, or go for the bargain on ebay which will save you alot of money.

To be honest, 9 times out of 10 everything goes fine. Even the big named websites for cameras have their problems.

thanks for all the replys i will have a look on ebay and see what there is.
