Been snooping around the galleries and I am truly amazed and impressed with the images there.. A credit to you all.

Bought myself a Canon 350d about 4 years ago with the aim of adopting photography as a new hobbie, but due to heavy work commitments and lack of spare time I never really used it or acknowledged its true potential :'(

Things have since changed and I now work with somebody who shares the same interest which has re-ignited my enthusiasm..

I know very little of the art and I'm learning from the very bottom, with understanding depth of field being a particulary arduous task :bonk:

Anyway, looking forward to talking with you all...

Hi Dave and welcome! As long as you have the enthusiasm, the rest can be picked up pretty quickly :) Remember: Wider aperture (lower number) gives narrower depth of field!
 
Thanks Mike, i'll get there in the end i'm sure :)

My real interest lies with scenes and night photography.. I spied this in the gallery and fell in love with it, Silky smooth water :love:

I also have a passion for classic cars, especially Triumphs..

Here's a shot I took of a pals 1500tc.. I was really pleased with this although i reckon it would've been better with a polariser...
