I have been asked to take a team photo plus a few others tonight, (not done this before).
Do I need any a disclosure form as its with kids or anything else?
Clueless about this to be honest lol.
100 percent amateur photographer.

Regards
Keith

You're not part of the organisation that manages the football team, are you? And the photography will take place with those who ARE from the managing organisation around (who will have DBS clearance)? On that basis I'd think not - just make sure there's always someone from the club around and don't get left alone with a single child.

Thanks for the info guys, appreciated.

Its my cousins sons team that asked for the photo's, so I have no real connection with the team.

(don't even know the name of the team yet!:p)

Just want to make sure I'm ok for this.

Would hate to get accused of anything.

Get whoever runs the team to confirm IN WRITING that they have obtained permission from all parents/guardians for photos to be taken. When you have them all in a group, before you take the pic, ask, in a loud voice, if they are all OK to be snapped.

Thanks Jon.

Everything went fine, had a laugh with the kids, the coaches and the parents.
They got the pics they wanted too!

What a sad country and state of affairs when you even have to ask this question :(

Well done on a successful shoot though Keith (y)

Totally agree Trev. but that's just the way things have went these days.
Thanks Trev

The country's not sad really, it's the pathetic snivellers who use all the cretinous laws we now have which allow them to impose their miserable view of people on everyone else - and the police who seem to take a delight in following them.
.

Only just seen this and it ultimately is sad.

I used to be the soccer team sec, so used to write all reports, fixtures and results for the local rag. The club obtained the disclosure clearance for us each year and even then it was a strict rule that no one from the club could be with the kids without another adult being present. One team manager once got b@ll@cked for taking two kids home after a parent failed to show and could not be reached on phone, but it was getting dark. The next season he decided not to bother as too much red tape and resigned from the club.

I also had disclosure clearance for teaching photography at local college as well as through my main job.

So many forms!!!

not even that - its the cretinous snivellers who misinterpret the sensible laws we have and try to impose them on people who don't have the balls to tell them to f*** off - and equally the cretinous whingers who live in a dream world where the police get involved in civil matters.

there is no law at all that says you need a disclosure to photograph children - and the police don't care one way or another,

I photograph children's footy for the local league (I am press secretary) and for the local paper. I wear an ID badge but have still been told by one manager that he'd call the police because there's a P**** in the park, and that's just one of many challenges I've had to deal with.
Depending on my mood, sometimes I get stroppy and sometimes I am polite.
The riposte that is now my firm favourite when challenged is: 'Why, what are you implying?'
Making folks have to explain why they are challenging me causes them just a momentary pause for thought which is totally disarming and they inevitably reply along the lines of: 'Nothing mate. Just thought I'd better ask.'
It's very satisfying but as folks have said, it's a bloody sad press-hyped state of affairs that we find ourselves in.
