Speaking as a Trekker myself, that film really does look the real McCoy (note the pun?). Well, at least looking at the trailer.
It still bothers me that the young Kirk in that film has bright blue eyes, William Shatner's eyes is hazel. It's all in the detail you know!
However, the actor who plays the young Spock looks absolutely spot on!
 
The trailer does indeed look very good, I was shocked it was Star Trek actually :p

ive got tickets, 100% on rotten tomatoes, and getting rave reviews in the US

Recommend that you find Countdown comic on Itunes to get a bit of back story...
 
My mate Ian at school (Well he works there) Has got tickets to go see it in the IMAX theatre in Grenwich(Sp?)
 
No cinema here (it's being built - fat lot of use that is). Nearest one is ten miles away and I don't own a car. :(

My wife's response when I asked if she wanted to see it with me can't be posted here. I mean it. The swear filter would go into meltdown.
 
they dont know what they are missing, 46 reviews on RT and only 1 bad, and thats from the dude who ALWAYS gives bad reviews.
 
I'm going at the weekend...birthday treat.....and yes my wife and my sister in law are both going.:thumbs: Can't wait, trailer looks superb!:banana::banana:

i married an actual real life woman who is going just as soon as she has finished "the trouble with tribbles" for the umpteenth time:woot:
 
I downloaded and watched a few of the HD trailers on Apple for this on Sunday afternoon, looks like a great film and I'm definitely going to see it :D

Excellent Stuff! Saw it last night with a few family members including my younger Bro who runs a comic-book shop in Exeter...
Good effects, good (enough) plot and script plus enough in-jokes and references to the original series and films to keep us all happy, including 'red-sweatshirt-guy' (referred to by Kirk as 'Red'...lol) who lasted all of 30 seconds! Bless...at least he had two lines to speak, one of which was "Aaaargh!"

I wonder if Checkov's accent was deliberately appalling? He couldn't decide if he was speaking cod-German, cod-Polish or cod Latvian at one point...lol

Took the wife to see this yesterday (she loves Star Trek....I've never been so keen). In a nutshell, we both loved it. Worth seeing a couple of times and a definite DVD/Blu-ray purchase. :)
