Maybe someone here could help.

We are looking for a new addition to the family, a beagle (dog not bitch)

Been looking for local breeders but as of yet no reply to the kennel club registered ones and have been looking at other breeders via net/papers etc. It would seem so far that all are scammers.

Everyone we have contacted within a 50mile radius has suddenly moved to Scotland and want a paypal payment in advance and will deliver the dog. At this rate Scotland will be jam packed with dog breeders!

Just after a honest person within Staffordshire or Birmingham that has a dog we can view and purchase!

World has gone mad! Sorry for the rant but really frustrating. Know we will find the right dog eventually.

Any link to them? I have had a look at Beagle Welfare and the beagle club.

I hope that at some point I will get a response from one of the kennel club breeders will get back to me.

Specialist websites for beagles link to the breeders the kennel club have (local as possible) along with links to websites that are full of these scammers.

I assume that as you are looking at adverts on the puppy sites you aren't too worried about KC registration ?
Most of the ones you have contacted aand heard from will be puppyfarm dogs

I have been looking for advertisements for KC registered pups. The ones i've heard back from are not puppyfarms they simply do not exist! scammers as I have already mentioned.

Beagle welfare and a local breeder (who shows dogs) have put me in touch with 2 breeders who also show their dogs. So hopefully we will get sorted soon. I have contacted the closest one first who has a 8month old dog she's rehoming which is a real option for me as I/family have rehomed several dogs before. If he's no longer available then the next breeder is a bit of a trek but we will know its a good dog pedigree wise. They also have 2 litters available at the moment.
 
Just done a quick search on t'internet and the Beagle clubs seem to work in a completely different way to Staffords.

There are Stafford clubs in most counties and they all have their own shows and handling classes, which is what I was going to suggest, ie. going to one of their handling classes and getting to know the people who show as they usually know if there are any litters due.

They have a very strange set up where there are not that many clubs but loads and loads of welfare contacts. Far more than we have in Staffods and I suspect for far less of a problem.

Sorry I haven't been much help just found it interesting looking at their setup.

This advert from epupz is the same as one from Derby I replied to on another site. Image is the same.

This is not the ad I looked at and price is much less but again same image and almost same listing - very close to Derby. If you contact them they will be all have moved to somewhere in Scotland.

The world is full of scammers!

Hopefully the breeders i've been linked to by beagle welfare will get back to me soon.

Epupz, k9 puppy, preloved pets etc will all be full of scammers and poorly bred dogs, yes many of them will be KC registered but that is no guarantee you will get a healthy dog, just that both parents were registered and fertile.
You need to find a good breeder that does any relevant health checks on the parents before they breed and will give you back up should you have problems or can no longer keep the dog for any reason.
Good breeders don't just churn out litters for sale
I have a very good friend, unfortunately not a beagle breeder who keeps track of all her pups for their entire lives, and turns down more homes then she accepts, yes you get really grilled if you want one of her pups, but she is always prepared to take them back if any problems arise, despite having a fair few of her own.

That is why I have been trying to contact breeders linked by the kennel club & now ones welfare site has been sending me information for.
 
How far are you prepared to travel?

There are a couple of pups due to wean this week in my village in N Wilts, after which they'll get basic training before release.

They aren't going to be cheap, as I believe the Grand-dam was best of breed at Crufts .

The breeder is 100% OK and a non professional, and will want to have the obvious conversations due to the nature of the breed.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll find out some more details.

No promises, as I don't know if they're spoken for as yet.
 
My mother-in-law got an American beagle(bitch) from a breeder in Warrington (North up the M6 from you) and oddly my cousin got her brother from the same litter and both are cracking dogs :)

I bought a beagle puppy from Dialynne beagles 3 years ago, they are near Birmingham. They are a fantastic breeder, out beagle is absolutely fantastic, loving gentle and pretty well behaved, it's worth having a trip there just to have a look at the dogs!

I have been looking a them (Solihull) Still waiting for some replies from more local breeders but as we travel to Birmingham around King's heath as my partner is from there it maybe worth contacting anyway.

Do you think they would remember the details of the breeder?
 
Please do consider a rescue dog.

but I am sure there will be others.

Although rescue centres will help by taking a dog back if the homing does not work, it is the last thing they want so good rescue centres are honest about the breed in general (eg what the attached says about needs of Beagles) and the individual dogs and are very keen to be a sure as possible that the home can provide what the dog needs.

At present I'm dog sitting a springer spaniel and a lurcher which are both rescue dogs and are two of the most gentle dogs I've met.

There are, unfortunately, lots of dogs of many types that need homes and it seems it is no different for beagles.

N Wilts is a little to far for us to travel.

- I have just been contacted by a very close breeder (3miles away) and we are having a visit tomorrow to have a general discussion and see some of the older dogs/their show dogs. Guess I will take it from there.
 
Just checked but we don have the details of the seller anymore, :(
The Beagle was bought from pets4sale however if that helps and is from the lymm/Warrington area.

Got the visit tomorrow and the 8month old boy is still available for rehoming by another breeder. So we have a few positives to go on.
 
Went to view the 8 month old male today. Think we fell for him instantly. Have a few days to think things over (i.e. get the stuff we need) then we'll be letting the breeder know we want him.
