Yes
Never had an issue with Paypal until earlier today..
Got a call from Paypal, just some standard stuff about verifiying my account.
Guy asked for details over the phone - told him that was not going to happen.
He became very stroppy and insisted if i didnt my Paypal account would be limited.
I told him i would supply it on the Paypal Website. He hung up.
Strange i thought but he got no details so no harm done.

I then received 3 emails from Paypal.
2 of those were filtered by Anti Phishing Software and the Third was "Unknown Sender".
Checked Paypal account and it had been limited.

Decided to call Paypal and one in a hundred i got the guy i had been speaking too earlier ---He hung up immediately.

Getting stranger by the minute...

Called Paypal again..got someone else, explained what had happened.
Now heres the really suspicious Part..

He verified the phone call and emails did come from Paypal but refused to discuss why they had "Unknown Sender ID", and when i quizzed him over the Phishing emails he stuttered and Stammered and said the operator was correct to ask for my personal details over the phone before stating "This is going know where, i am now hanging up"

I then got an email from Ebay saying my Ebay account was also Terminated.

Wtf is going on.?

Just to clairfy i am a 340+ Power seller on Ebay with 1 neg feedback in 12 months that Paypal found the buyer was at fault and not me.

i cancelled my paypal account recently as i just plain dont trust them anymore, have heard so many horror stories its just not real ! They take the wrong side in arguments, cock up, and quite regularly the innocent party ends up worse off !

I cancelled my PayPal account a few months ago due to issues with PayPal and some of their methods :(
Only problem is without a PayPal account I can't use ebay and a few other sites that I used to buy things from, though I'm hoping some of them will add other methods of payment soon.

Thats a bit strange indeed..are you sure the number you rang was actually PayPal? Did you get the number off the email?

I just checked and I've had no email from PayPal.

Ive had paypal for years and never had any phone calls from them, and no emails of the above nature.

I would ring again and get through to complaints dept, or cust services. Obviously the 2nd guy should have been able to resolve this for you.

Took number off website as they give you a code now to enter.

I have since received another 2 emails from Paypal claiming the previous ones might not have been sent by them even although all the embedded details are the same..
I think Paypal has a few rogue employees being a little naughty working for them.

There was an issue a while back where the actual login page of the genuine site had been compromised and when people signed in their details were being stolen.

Did you get names for the people you spoke to at Paypal?

They all identified themsleves m8 but as i wasnt being over suspicious at that particular time i didnt pay attention.

my mrs sells stuff on ebay and theyve recently held some of our payments for 21 days or until buyer sends us positive feedback or confirmation of receipt of goods.apparently we are a risk to certain customers.WTF?
also a lot of customers now are opting to pay by cheque rather than paypal.
she has 100% feedback.
but we have recently reported a customer for non payment.
someone we beleive bid just to push price up, with no intention of paying.
and you wonder why people are getting peed off with paypal AND ebay.

Yeh..Im now beginning to wonder if Paypal is now in some sort of financial trouble due to the Credit Crunch same as most other Finincial Institutions.
I did ask that but the guy refused to comment on that.

What's with this 4-digit code thing? I have a fully verified business account with them so I fail to see what more they reasonably need.

They froze my account for three days last week when I sold my camera and a lens and grip and got paid through there stating Money Laundering risk. Three days later they lifted the restrictions without an explanation. The 21 day thing on ebay is ridiculous and has put pay to my selling on there.

Guys..Just off the phone with Paypal..
Asked if Paypal were in any sort of financial trouble and the reply "ermm..eerr..We cant comment on that sir".
Can you send me an email stating that Paypal is not in Financial Trouble?
Reply "No"
Why?
Reply "i will refer it to the relevant dept,"

Read from that what you will but i would suggest you get your money out of Paypal ASAP.

So basically the same as every other bank then? Take your money out of PayPal and put it where exactly? If you want your money to be secure in the current climate withdraw it and put it in a fireproof safe.

for the first time ever i was charged for sending monEy £14 STILL WAITING ON PAYPAL TO REPLY TO THIS

I'd be surprised if Paypal were in trouble, I sold a lens on ebay last week and stated payment must be via paypal I sold the lens for £875 and paypal changed me £29 for using there service and that was without the ebay fees

That happened to me when I sold my Sigma 10-20 here about 6 weeks ago, money was frozen for some hokey random reason. Wasn't able to get at it for about 11 days.

Paypal charge 3.4% on all payments taken for goods sold via them under £1000. Over that it drops to £1.5 or something. It's always been the case. The recipient of cash pays a fee.

EDIT: After rereading your post, it doesn't look like you were asking for an explanation, sorry
