Gives me great pleasure to announce I've got this months front cover shot!

Not only a career highlight for me, but a personal one too as I have fond memories of looking through the BBC Wildlife Magazines my brothers had twenty odd years ago; being amazed by the images in there back then. My love of wildlife definitely stemmed from those days so to now have my own image featured on the cover of probably the best and most highly acclaimed magazine in the world, is just mind blowing!! Not many people can say they've had a cover shot on this magazine so I am truly overwhelmed and it's a massive honour and privilege.

Now in its 32nd year of publishing, big thanks goes out to Wanda, Matt and the team for using it and definitely anything else this year is a bonus! Also not forgetting, there's one of my Water Vole images on page 12

Also, speaking of Puffins - I've written a pocket book on them which is to be published soon by Graffeg Publishing. Plus 2015 calendars launching soon!

Well done Drew, you have every right to be proud of your achievements, your images are all taken to a high standard (y)

Congratulations and what a fantastic shot... can see why they picked it. :D :notworthy:

Hoo! I can imagine the editor was thrilled to be able to run with such a superb shot. ^_^ (And what a catch! They certainly won't be going hungry)

Thanks all much appreciated - totally over the moon! :)

It looks photo shopped.As usual.:(

in what way is that photoshopped ?

I mean obviously the cover has been processed its a cover - but if you are suggesting photographic dishonesty on Drew's part I'd say you are way off base

The magazines boost the colours ,sharpness and contrast far too much so the photos do not look real. The photo has been spoilt by whoever boosted it..Can we see the out the camera shot?

Very well done there Drew.

I hope he got paid, but knowing the BBC possibly not. A good catch though not the bird with the fish, the BBC mag cover.

Brilliant shot. Where was it taken? Well done on the cover.

Congratulations, you must be well pleased :)

Many thanks all, over the moon! :D :D

Yeh, they've flipped it, blued up the background some more and made is suit their layout - but then what magazine doesn't tweak images? They're the end client and they're paying for the image so they can do what they like with it as far as I'm concerned.

For those interested here's the original http://drewbuckleyphotography.com/puffin-fully-loaded/ - and yes it's paid for (a very decent fee!), I've never worked for free nor supplied images for free and a slating statement saying the BBC (or any other company) doesn't pay for images obviously zero clue about professionally sourced images.

Cheers!

Great photo and congratulations! For some reason I like the colours in the original but I prefer the image as flipped on the cover above. Regardless though, a great achievement and something to rightly be proud of.

And of course it is obviously photo shopped, they have somehow photo shopped a fox and a butterfly in next to it which don't seem to appear in the original. This is dishonesty of the highest order /end sarcasm.
