I've just seen a trailer on BBC1 for the new series of Planet earth

No date as of yet but it's "coming soon"

Is anyone else looking forward to it? natural history documentaries and top gear are the two reasons i still feel happy paying the licence fee

Yep Planet Earth is in HD.............and FANTASTIC it is too!

has it got the only person worth watching; Sir David Attenborough? try as they might I can't quite see any presenters living up to his fantastic standards. I do like the big cat stuff though, John Scott, Simon King etc. are a talented group I admire as well. Steve Leonard may come across as all nice but, knowing people who were with him on that vets in practice show, he's an arrogant plonker apparently...
