I went to the Biker Fuel protest today.

Took over 300 photos and sent about 13 of them to the Manchester Evening News, BBC News North West Tonight and NorthNews.co.uk.

Got a call from a reporter from North West Tonight and one (I think, may be more than one) will be shown tonight!

Those in the NorthWest, tune in to BBC ONE at 6:30pm. Everyone else can watch it online after it is shown on TV tonight:

Wahey! I was tempted to go (My wife was off work after all), but I ended up having a lie in instead...too many late nights on this place :lol:
 
I forgot.. plain and simple .. Was fully intending to go and simply forgot ...sigh :(

Where did you take the pics from.. enroute or ?
 
No not paid. I probably could have gotten money out of them but at this stage i'm just trying to get my name out there.

I started off at Birch services, took a load of photos of the bikers ariving, some crazy bikes etc..

Then I went to one of the bridges over the M62. Got talking to a press photographer who worked for the Daily Mail (I think) which was pretty cool. Also got chatting to two more on the 2nd bridge, not sure who/what they worked for though.

Then I went further down to the M602 and got some more shots over another bridge.

I didn't actually go to bed at all. I knew that if I went to sleep, i'd just wake up at 6am and go back to sleep. Absolutely knackered now though, been soooo busy today aswel.

UPDATE: Got another email from the reporter, she said she will use several of my photos in her piece tonight! Yay! Can't wait to see this! I'm so excited! :D

I don't know what to say to this...I just don't know... I felt hartened on another post today but this just makes me sigh....

No wonder they're want another 7...they don't need to pay for them.

Well I watched it, but they didn't credit you at all, which I think is bloody awful.
It's one thing to 'use' someone to get free images, but to not even give the decency of the credit is disgusting.

Here are the ones I spotted by the way, I took photos for you :thumbs:

Yeah those are mine! That's awesome. The last one isn't, but the first three are.

I did actually just give them to the BBC free of charge. I do always foget to tell people to credit me though. Lesson learned I guess, i'l make sure they at least give me credit next time (and i'l try and get some money out of them, what do you guys reckon is a good amount to charge per image?).

I'm just happy that some of my photos got into main-stream media :D

Bikers protesting about fuel? :thinking: they must be the least effected group on the roads!
 
No problems. I have fullsized versions if you want em :) (I bordered these with actions, but deliberately had to go back and take my url off them...lol)

Nah I think that's just some generic image or something. The other 3 are though :)

How big are the full rez ones Marcel? (How many px by px?)
 
Whilst I agree that not giving you a credit, is a bit much, did you ask for a one when you submitted the images. It's possible that the producer thought they were images submitted by a viewer who would just get a kick out of seeing the images on TV
 
Full ones uncropped are, er, 30d sizes? lol

Well technically I am lol, i'm not a professional yet :D

I did tell the reporter that i'm trying to get into press photography though.

RAW's my good man. Theyre only shots of my TV though ;)
