BBC lists search results people have asked google to hide

One caveat: when looking through this list it is worth noting that we are not told who has requested the delisting, and we should not leap to conclusions as to who is responsible. The request may not have come from the obvious subject of a story.

That's helpful then

I wonder what the European law makers will make of the BBC's actions?

I had a quick click through on a few of them and most seem to relate to court cases, including police officers. I can understand that they might want these to disappear for career reasons, along with those who had been convicted of sex crimes and a teacher /pupil thing. I guess the problem is that convictions become "spent" after a number of years, yet the internet allows them to be discovered and brought back up. I think this is actually quite a good move by the BBC, but I'm not sure how long they'll be allowed to do it if it becomes popular.

Sex crimes are never spent, amongst others.
