Yes
SO the Korean GP over-ran, at 9.30 BBC put Andrew MArr on and swtiched coverage to BBC2, Sky+ doesnt do channel changes as its not expecting to do it, BBC2 had the last 20 laps. Guess what, no 20 laps on Sky+, and also no last 20 laps on BBC Iplayer. Way to go BBC, you pillocks.

I know who won, as i couldnt avoid the result, but very annoyed that I couldnbt enjoy it all unfold.

I did watch it live and recorded it too
.....could have had a longer lie in though :bonk: :D

 lazy buggers should have got out of bed and watched it, like i did.

Cooking fat woke us up early, so I started watching after 5 or so laps, just in time to see the safety car pull off.

Shame that the winner is now also leading the WDC - he should have been excluded from the championship after his team cheated in his favour earlier in the season.

I so agree with you Nod about the winner dummy spitting little plonker that he is as for the team well..

And i know a certain someone who owes me an early morning F1 watching thing.. promise bacon butties mrs!!!

They even made "something for the weekend" run late - OH thought that it wasn't on .........

why is it a farce? not the BBC's fault the race ran late.

They should have at least made it available on Iplayer.

I was up to watch today but have been stung in the past with Sky+ and switching channels.

total bummer.. got up early, had to leave at 9.00 for a wedding fayre..

I agree with Hamilton & Brundle - they should have got on and stopped faffing about and get racing

why is it a farce? not the BBC's fault the race ran late.

its a farce because:

6am start, so not many folk will get up to watch it, so its recorded, switching over to bbc 2 is fine if your watching, but not if your recording as the technology doesnt allow for it to follow to bbc2. they can give all the warnings they like during the race, but if you aint watching it....

..then iplayer only has the first bit as shown on BBC1, no BBC2 section until much later in the day - many complaints about that on twitter and iplayer message board

so the choices for the BBC were: have Marr on at 9.30, screwing over the millions who tape the damned thing(last season 30million people watched F1 on the BBC in the uk), or move Marr to BBC2 - so the people who tune in could easily be diverted to 2 to watch it, those of us that watch the race 'late' after an early start get duckshoved. :dummy:

anyway had to go out, did my best to avoid result but couldnt, so I knew who won, finally got to watch the last laps on iplayer earlier. real shame as the race was a cracker. *shakes fist at schedulers and decision makers*

I have just watched it on iplayer, didnt realise the second part wasnt there to start.

What about the people who set sky+ to record Andrew Marr? Presumably it's OK for them to find it replaced by some motor racing when they come to watch it? ;)

probably not much help, but I watched the whole thing recorded late last night [Mr Yv switched the recordings as he was watching live], having spent the whole day avoiding the result by the simple expiedient of being out in the car, cd's only playing and not having a news page as my homepage on mobile phone :D

Shame the little shoite won though :(

thats never going to happen, the reasons being that old people watch political interviews, they get up at 5am and probably dont have sky+...

Got up and started watching the recording about 9am, wasn't too amused when it switched channels either. Thankfully managed to stay away from the result all day and watched the end of the race during the afternoon re-run. Still, what a PITA :(

It is WELL annoying that SKy+ doesn't (can't?) follow an overrunning program to another channel... it's happened before :(

iPlayer is at least sorted out now so has the full race (I've still not made it to the end yet!)

But sureley Sky+ would have stopped recording at the Scheduled end of the program anyway? You would have missed it either way

Nope, it does seem to manage to keep up with programs that overrun (at least sporting programs) just not if they change channel!

I didn't find any problem with it. Lets look at it this way, at least they showed the coverage on a channel - they didn't just fail to show it at all.

I watched it on Iplayer at 1.00 and they already had part 1 and part 2 uploaded by then. The only part missing was the 1 lap between the two halves when Petrov crashed (which has since been added)

Stop moaning, there are much bigger problems in the grand schemes of things. IMHO Iplayer is a superb service and given the very unexpected running of the race they did superbly. ITV Player takes a week to add most shows (most races as highlights), so it would be considerably worse if ITV still showed it.

Get the sky plus programer if you have an iphone and then you can change the recording remotely.

Shame the little shoite won though :(

YAY someone else who dislikes him too. I can't write my full opinion though as I don't want any infractions/bans :D

I almost cried when Seb's engine gave out :( He drove an absolutely perfect weekend!

I agree with the argument about the BBC mess as well. Why would they swap the F1 over when they know it's being recorded by millions when they could have quite easily started the other program on BBC2. :cuckoo: :shake:

Nick, you are right, iPlayer is brilliant, but the whole thing could have been avoided by leaving the F1 on BBC1.

Could have been worse.

I recorded it and was at lap 38 or so when they switch to BBC2. As I switched the recording off the channel was on BBC2 and I swa Alonso winning. FFS! LOL

Had to wait and recored the afternoon re-run to see what happened to Seb.

Sorry - what's all the moaning about? It was rerun in the afternoon for those that couldn't be bothered to get out of bed.

There is always a re run for those who can't be bothered to get out of bed at stupid o'clock, however I had other things I wanted to do during the day other than chase around after a full BBC coverage

So next time record the rerun not the live one - simples :D

Even more of a shame that his current and past bosses seem to dote on the dummy spitting CHEAT and will do anything to help him in his CHEATING. Even at McLaren, HE was the driver that was actually involved in the cheating (asking Coughlan to quiz Stepney about certain things) then blackmailed his boss over the situation, wanting special treatment.

Good driver, yes but almost as tarnished as the German cheat.

The real shame is he drives so well, innit? :p:p

He is a very talented driver, of that there is no question.

However, this is why I find his attitude so poor. He is good enough to be successful without having his team mates handicapped, or forced to slow down, so he can breeze past & claimhis victory!:suspect:

We've been here before, of course, Schumacher was the master of manipulation, but even he was openly embarrased on the Austrian podium, whereas Alonso lapped up the plaudits in Hockenheim as though he'd won fair & square.

If he wins the championship by those few points it'll be a disgrace....but he won't mind because, to people like him, winning, by any means, is all that matters:shake:

In his early days I was a fan, you could see he was brilliant, it's very sad that he can't bear the thought of playing fair!

Alonso for the title.

Would pee off alot of folk, that's why I like him.

i was out...my carefully planned day didnt include waiting for the BBC to get the second half on iplayer..

the sky plu sprogrammer is only any good if you KNOW what is going on, which brings us back to the original point. there was no way of knowing that it overran without turning the tv on while the race was on...

anyway, im over it now. just annoyed at the time, more so that the second half wasnt on iplayer
