hi
has anyone an oppinion on replacement batterys for the d80 , ive seen non nikon for half the price of guenuine nikons . dont get me wrong if its better for the camera its got to be the real thing. but ide rather spend money on something more sexy . regards, merchmean.

Hi merchman.

Canon / Nikon, makes no difference! Many people buy spare 3rd party batteries - i gave in myself.

The key is to match the mwh as closely as possible (so that you get a similar performance to your Nikon battery) and stick to the more well know brands. Hahnel, uniross, etc.

to give an idea of savings, I bought 2 canon replacements for a total of £17 - thats a saving of £120 :) Honestly cant tell the difference betwen them and i was an utter battery snob only a month ago!!

:agree: - Had a 7dayshop replacement battery in my D50 & like Jon says the difference was zero - If you really want to stick with a Nikon one OneStopDigital do it for £36.99 incld p&p [£15.99 for the D80 battery @ 7dayshop btw]
Paul ;)

Never had a problem with non-genuine batteries, but Kerso sold me a genuine Nikon for such a good price, I couldn't say no....

thanks
been on a few sites will take your advice and go for a non nikon, save my cash for a bag, cant keep walking around with my zoom in my coat pocket,i tend to lean to one side and it gives my photos a slanty look. regards merchman
