Hi All,

I was lucky enough to have my camera with me last week when a Spitfire and Hurricane flew over, now i got a few shots i was happy with, but when they did a pass together in formation, they have come out overexposed. Is there anyway I can boost the detail in the aircraft at all??
I have the RAW files and photoshop elements 8

thanks

Unlikely that you would be able to get any further detail from this.

Had you thought instead about converting to B&W and having as a silhouette?

I wouldn't say I'm happy with the result of a quick play but it might help you or someone else take it further.

It's actually underexposed, that's why the aircraft appear as little more than silhouettes. Your camera has exposed for the sky.

Thanks all, for your time. I'll give the silhouette thing a try, if not another one for the bin:bonk:

I like what Wayne has done,it reminds me of late 1960's , early 1970's graphics for exhibition display.

Obviuosy have such an immense amount of sky is not helping much at the moment , so it needs cropping big time.

Your sensor needs a clean ;)

Oh tell me about it, the amount of times i've had the blower in there and still the blobs are there. I think its time to get some professional help.

Serves me right for changing lenses on windy beach in the Falklands:bang:

Blower is bad - all it does is blows the dust elsewhere... Start with an electrostatically charged brush (make sure it's clean tho!) and if that fails a wet cleaning kit. There's plenty of guides around including this one: http://www.cameraclean.co.uk/Tutorial_Beginners_Home.php

It's easy to do and will cost about £20-£30 if you buy the right stuff. A sensor loupe, whilst expensive, is really useful. I cleaned my sensor a couple of times whilst I was in the USA a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks Andy, I'll give it a try. Just petrified about touching the sensor itself with anything, I'm the worlds must heavy handed clot:D

But I guess you just gotta do what you gotta do.
