Battery powered video light

Has any got any recommendations for one of the above? I want to use it for some off camera lighting scenarios at weddings etc and was wondering if anyone could advise on models/wattage etc.

The photogapher that shot my wedding used something similar to THIS

The trend now is for LED lighting assuming you want fill light rather than illumination to get an exposure. Try Lite Panels for LED or for tungsten illumination look at the PAG C6 which is solidly built. Sony also make a twin tungsten on board light which takes the sony battery which is a good price.

Our photographer used the video light off camera to create some cracking off camera lighting. Ill need to speak to them and see what brand/spec they were using.

http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/public/view_item_cat.php?catalogue_number=pag_1001 is a pretty (industry) standard pag light, pretty warm colour temperature but you can get different bulbs if it's an issue... I could see how the warmth would work well for weddings though.

For video work, a very respected LED light is the comer 1800.

IIRC, they're about £180.

A friend of mine bought some Kino Diva lights. He is a videographer right enough but he's able to create a lot in video that he hopes to be able to replicate in photography.

We hired in some of these LitePanels for a video shoot where we couldn't use normal lighting because of the heat.

man, the kino gear is so farking sweet... way expensive though

LED litepanel micros are rated way below the comer lights, dimmer and worse built and less bright etc... the big ones look pretty neat though.
